Hi there everyone! I was a member of the yahoo pilot wives group, and , like so many others in the group lately, have become fed up wth the garbage (i.e. porn) that has been getting into that group. So, Kristie, I saw your invitation for us all to come join you here and here I am!
I just thought I'd introduce myself quickly. I was always an active person in the pilot wives group and enjoyed writing and reading. My name is Liz and I am 26 years old. I was married earlier this year to the man I dated and loved and watched go through all the training and "b.s." that goes along with being a pilot, for 8 years. We are also expecting our first baby in November (a boy!!). I am a former professional ballet dancer and now I currently teach ballet. DH is a captain for Chautauqua airlines (just upgraded this summer after 3 years wth the company) and is based out of a different city than we live in. So, we have to go through the joys of commuting and such. Anyways, just wanted to say hi to everyone. Talk to y'all soon.-Liz

I saw Kristie's message on the other board as well, I have enjoyed your input there and am glad that you are here! This seems to be very well organized. Have I already asked you about how you like Atlanta? We are looking to finally make the move in a few months.

Hey Denise!
DH and I LOVE Atlanta. I moved here in 1999 after I graduated from college. I have lived both in the suburbs and in the city. We moved out of Midtown when we got married because we decided it was just too expensive to live there especially with a baby on the way. So, now we live about 15 minutes north of the city. There is so much to do here and so much to see with the mountains nearby, and all the history in this area. The people here are what we love the most though. I grew up a Yankee in Connecticut and DH grew up in Indiana so we have been exposed to to different kinds of people. Southerners are just so friendly. I had no problem making friends when I moved here because everyone pretty much came to me. Hope this helps! Let me know if you have any other questions! Oh, also another perk...the Atlanta Airport. You can get a flight pretty much going ANYWHERE at ANYTIME from here! haha!

Hi ladies! Liz I was in ballet when I was little and thought I would be a prima some day and then teach. In fact I did teach neighborhood kids for about 9 months and put on my own recital when I was 11. LOL. Unfortunately though I was told I needed surgery on my toes, and after that, it was all over. I can't dance anymore. [img]/forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif[/img] That is very neat that you are though, it's not often that I hear of anyone that dances. It will be nice to get to know you more. [img]/forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif[/img]

Oh, and congrats on the baby! I hope your dh will be able to be there for the birth! That's one of my biggest fears, that he will miss one of our children being born. I hope it all goes smoothly for you! Labor is a strangley painful yet incredible experience!

Hey, Wife, you just stole my thunder. Just Kidding! It's funny, though, I also taught ballet for about 5 years. Why are we ex-dancers all attracted to pilots?

Liz, nice to have you here and congrats on your baby. I have a good friend who lives in Atlanta now, and she also really likes it. And you're right, you can't beat the convenience of ATL.

Hello! I was also on the pilot wives group but I was so sick of all the unwanted mail! I get enough of it from aol [img]/forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif[/img]

I am a 25 year old wife of a pilot. DH and I have been married for a little over a year now, but we had dated for 6 years before. We both grew up in the Northeast but met at college in Florida. After we graduated we moved but up north and currently live in NH. DH is currently a FO for Continental Express (he was a CA until 9/11 and b/c of flowbacks from CAL and layoffs he has only been able to hold FO since). He is based in Cleveland so he commutes to work.

I am an 8th grade science teacher in NH. I love my job but I miss DH when he is away. Luckily he got weekends off this month and next month so we can enjoy the weekends together for a change!

Just wanted to say hello and introduce myself.
