| Member  |  Pilots and divorce rates? I know that the aviation industry has a stigma for having a high divorce rate, but I'm curious how much of the stereotype is true. Yes, a relationship is harder due to the time away from the family and that is unique to the industry, but it seems likely that just as many relationship fail due to other reasons (infidelity, finances, different expectations). I haven't been able to find any concrete evidence, studies, even magazine articles about why the rate is supposedly higher for pilots or just how much higher is it. It kind of seems like an unfounded stereotype. Has anyone seen any actual proof that the divorce rate is higher for aviation families and how much of that can be attributed to the specific job demands vs. how much is just normal relationship stress. I'm curious to see what is out there about this. What do you all think about it? Kim
