No attraction...right now?

So I'd definatly say hubby and I are going through a really rough patch but this comment just irk'd me last night.

So the back story is...my husband was always a cuddler, in the morning, while watching tv...almost to a point where it was annoying. Nowadays, he holds the dog more than me. Last night I ask him why and he said "I'm just not attracted to you...right now"?!?!?! What is that about? RIGHT NOW? Are ya kidding me? Like is it ever coming back? I didn't ask because I didn't want to push the issue plus it was 11:30 at night and he had a 5am show.

Has anyone gone through something like this? You think with almost losing 40 lbs, getting blond highlights for the summer (and because I know he loves them) would make him more attracted not less. Can attraction come back?
