| Hubby was home and it was a rough weekend to say the least. We seem to be bickering alot lately over stupid stuff. But one arguement keeps resurfacing. Vacations. My middle child has to go to Florida every two years to see a specialist for his Ocular Albinism. We see a doctor at Nova Eye Institute in Ft. Lauderdale. Usually we go in June and I was planning on going a couple of extra days and staying at the beach. The kids have been wanting to go to the beach again, so I thought, we're there anyway...right? So Sunday I was looking at hotels on the beach and hubby had a fit. It was too expensive to stay directly on the beach, stay in town. I just drove 14 hours (I refuse to nonrev into Ft. Lauderdale, it's too hard to get out. Got stuck there 3 days one time). I will not want to get back in the car and have to drive to the beach if there's any daylight left so the kids can play for a while. He still thinks it's too much and I shouldn't do it. Stay close to Nova, which is off 595 at University Drive. This has always been a huge arguement between us. Almost to the point where I dont' want to even talk about vacations with him, much less go on one. He's so cheap! I make as much money writing as he does as a captain, so it's not like we can't afford it. In his mind, he just can't justify it. He even bitches about the conferences I go to. Why do they have them at the expensive hotels? Like I have any control over that at all. Why can't you stay down the street at a cheaper one? You should hear him fuss at the expense of Romantic Times convention which is coming up in April. I dont' even tell him anymore. I just say I'm going to Pittsburg. (rolling eyes) He's not going with us, so I'll probably just make the reservations where I want and not even discuss it with him. Is that bad?? I'm just so sick of the argueing over it.
