Default My new GrillFriend

I am so excited about our new grill!! I wanted to share my Bday and his Father's Day gift (since we really don't buy stuff for each other)

So, I saw the BBQTek grill at Walmart (I truly hate going there but it was such a beauty!!) It had everything I wanted--NO SIDE BURNER!! which is pretty rare these days for a premium grill)
I ordered it online thru my Delta SkymilesShopping program and it was shipped to the store no charge! and I got 1/2 mile/dollar on hubby's account.
Took a week plus (which is good cuz I am still staining the deck--SAVE ME!!) but it is awesome!!
It has 2 drawers and 2 grill compartmetns--one is INFARED!! (anyone have experience with THAT??) I can't wait to get a rotisserie and it was great buy for less than $300 tax included!!

Took more time to unpack the parts--many are pre-assembled and even if you get stuck they have a video on BBQTek website. It was the easiest, most efficient assembly Id even seen. Even the hubby was tickled with little to do.
I have a flat-iron steak marinating iin smoked paprika and garlic--ready to slap that puppy on the Grill of My Dreams.
Thanks for letting me indulge my whims and crow about the new toy!
PS--if you need a great grill, this is IT!

you have the infrared on the back or on the side? the infrared on the back is for the rotisserie...where as if it's on the side (separate from the grill), then it's a searing monster!!

we have a new grill as well (Kenmore) with an infrared searing burner, 5 burner grill with infrared on the back for the rotisserie. it's AWESOME!!

the only problem we have with it is that the searing burner doesn't have a hood or anything to protect it when it's windy out.

ENJOY that new BBQ dining!! YUM!

this one is split
Walmart.com: BBQTEK Split Lid Gas Grill: Grills & Outdoor Cooking
so the infared part is the smaller side right--separate hood
Just had the flat-iron and it was Yummalicious--a tad rare but better than overdone!
there is a rotis set up on the large side (3 burners)
I am such a little kid--it was the perfect thing for a double nickel birthday!
I do not wish to grow up all the way (not MJ or Peter Pan style) but a bit of a silly girly.

Question Re: My new GrillFriend

We have a friend that has a "green egg", one of those ceramic grills. I think the food is smoked. It is very good. They cooked some corn on it, and it was great. The food is always awesome.

We have a Weber gas grill. It seems like we go through phases of using it a lot, then not using it at all.

I have never heard of the infared thing. Could someone explain how that works?

I hope no one is offended by this. I came across this T-shirt the other day and it cracked me up. I figured it would go along well for your new grillfriend!
