| Jetgirls Ol' School Member | ya, skin goes kinda nuts with hormone changes (hence most women break out around their period) so i would definatly attest bad skin to your being pg. like the week before my period my skin starts to freak out a bit, but i usually just ignore it and it goes away |

| Jetgirls Ol' School Member | Well I would love to go without makeup but I can't. My skin is thin, doctors tell me. So I get areas that look red because of the fact that there are blood vessels too near the surface. And then there are the eyebrows that never grew back completely so I always have to use the Brenda Christian Magic Brow. The Oil of Olay products are highly rated by all the magazines including the exclusives like Vogue and Harpers Bazaar. I like the cleanser and serum. The cleanser is about $4.50 and lasts 6 months. The serum is $28 in Costco and looks to be a year long thing. Again, your skin is different and it changes over time. So what may work in your 20's will not work in your 30's. The real issue is that you need to begin to moisturize early! And it does not have to be expensive. The Jergens stuff does work regarding reducing shaving needs. It takes me under 10 seconds for each leg to shave daily due to that. And they have this shimmer cream that looks great for those special nights out on the town. And they have this cellulite cream.... |

| [quote:2717a7f568="Kristie"]isn't it interesting on just how different everyone's skin really is?! I mean the proactive works great for me - for keeping away the breakouts...but nothing's really taken away any pigmentation or what not and lotion like phisoderm I find too greasy.. hahahahhahahaha weird huh?! :greeny:[/quote:2717a7f568] So is the pro-active really worth it's price??? We're thinking of getting some for DH. His acne isn't too bad, but he's 24 and still gets breakouts. It's annoying. |

| Jetgirls Ol' School Member | Well it's refundable if you don't like it for the price--the worst that could happen is you lose what you paid for shipping. It didn't work for me, but i works for others. My sister swears by it but I do not know why because her skin is as bad as mine?? |

| Admin/Owner ![]() | to me, it's been worth every single penny! i used to get breakouts once a month and then they'd spread (because I can't keep my stinkin hands to myself and try to do like the facial ladies do) and stay even longer, look worse..but 2 weeks into using proactive and I was really seeing some results.. smoother skin, no flaking, no breakouts (at all) and some of my pigmentation (sun spots) actually disappeared... not totally, but they're lighter than they used to be...I only wash my face once a day and that's in the morning (if i wash too often, it gets too dry). I used to use MD Forte on a daily basis for about 2 years and it worked for a while in keeping the cells from breaking out... but then like some were saying, your skin changes and you have to find a new solution...and i think the beads with the proactive really make a difference in exfoliating all the dead skin...I kinda figured out - that with me - it's not the makeup that makes me break out, it's the dead skin... so yeah.. right now and for the past 8 months, i swear by it! the only problem i have with it is that the only way you can order it is over the net and it takes weeks for shipping (2-4 weeks) so you have to be prepared ahead of time and know when your going to run out. |

| I'm w/ Kristie, I love ProActive. I am on the send it every 3 month thing or whatever. So it just shows up. Very convenient I have used it for...almost 7 years, yikes! I have very nice skin but I did have the hormonal breakouts and this stopped them. It cleared up any red marks left from the breakouts, it refined my skin's texture. It is great. You can get it on ebay as well, I believe, just be sure to check the expiration dates on the bottles. |

| Jetgirls Ol' School Member | A warning though if you decide to try it--do NOT wipe your face on nice towels after wards! My nice spendy fluffy purple towels have a big hot pink face mark on them thanks to when I tried that stuff. Didn't occur to me that the peroxide was that strong even after rinsing with water, but it is. |

| Great info here! I may have to try some of these products. Clearasil does not seem to be working as well as it used to for hormonal breakouts. I hate standing in line at the store with hair dye, wrinkle cream and an acne fighter! |
