| Admin/Owner ![]() | We're having a problem with our upstairs bedroom french doors (now that it's been raining)... one of them at the bottom is leaking through and getting our carpet, pad & flooring (wood) underneath all wet... Does anyone have a hubby or know someone who would know how and/or what we need to do to fix the problem? i have no idea where to start... if we need to replace the entire door frame along with the carpeting/pad/wood underneath or if we just need to replace the pad/rubber thing at the bottom or what?

| DH is NOT an expert but he says to check which way the water drains (toward the door or away), the sweep of the door, and if there is any caulking or sealer that might be cracked or peeled away and allowing rain to come in. I'm really no help but I hope you get taken care of -- Good luck. Jen |

| Hey I asked dh and he said that the rubber seal at the bottem of the door and the one between the two doors might be dried out (because of lack of humidity) and if you replace them it should stop leaking..hopefully...

| No help with the leak, but would suggest putting a fan directly on the carpet and leaving it on for a long while even after the carpet feels dry. If the padding and wood stays wet, it will start to grow mold. BIG PROBLEM!! |

but i also tend to wonder if the wood underneath needs to be replaced since it's had a lot of moisture on it. Luckily, in AZ.. things dry really fast so we hardly ever have mold problems ![]()

| It probably couldn't hurt to replace it too!
