Default Work out machines

I think DH and I might buy ourselves a workout machine for Christmas (at least that is my plan, haven't run it past DH yet!). I don't know about you guys, but trying to make time to make it to the gym is nearly impossible with two active children. Plus, I find myself these days just wanting to be at home every once-in-a-while! So with my waist expanding and not having time to go somewhere to workout, I am in the market. Any suggestions?

I researched the treadclimber and read many different reviews. Most trainers said that they weren't worth the price, but then normal people seemed pleased with the options of a treadclimber. But some are very expensive! I don't think I can justify spending $4000! Somewhere in the $2000 range seems reasonable if both DH and I are using it regularly.

Anyone have a treadclimber, or have you used on at your gym? Mine doesn't have one yet.

I've never owned workout equipment and I've never used a treadclimber (sounds interesting). My biggest concern/worry if I owned equipment would be maintenance and repair. It seems like those types of machines break down fairly frequently. So make sure that either you or DH are very handy, or be sure there is a great maintenance and repair policy.

Hope you have fun w/ it!!

Dh and I don't have a treadclimber, but we do have an elliptical trainer and a treadmill. The treadmill kills my knees. The elliptical is very easy on your knees.
I would suggest that if you are considering buying one of those to try it for a good month or 2 before making a decision to spend that much.
