| Jetgirls Ol' School Member | I have no idea what kind it is. Some little bottle and I emptied the whole thing in the rinse aid hole and its still in there. It was a little free sample that came with it, since the dishwasher is new. Maybe its just new dishwasher smell? I am sure going to try the vinegar trick once its all out though. I hate opening it! |

| I'm bringing this thread back to life because I just discovered another solution to stinky towels. Dawn Dishwashing liquid. Apparently the stink is caused by a build up of laundry products and the Dawn takes it off. I was again having trouble with stinky cloth diapers and just extra rinses wasn't doing it. I did some more research and found this. Add up to a tablespoon to your washload of towels -watch and see how much it foams up and wash as usual. It fixed my diapers! Jackie |

| I always find that an extra hot wash, and especially an extra hot spin in the dryer helps. The high heat helps kill the bacteria that makes the towels smelly. (As in, when you leave the washcloth smushed up in the shower and it starts to get gross! I think that happens to towels too, over time?)

| Yeah probably with the front loaders you'd either want to try just a smidge or not at all. You could probably soak/handwash them in the Dawn then rinse/spin out in the washer tho'. Maybe you could do them in the bathtub. My diapers are still smelling great -well at least the clean ones anyway! I just did my towels. They are pretty rough but the next wash Ill use a little fabric softner. I personally dont use it much-especially on towels b/c it seems to affect absorbancy and I kind of like them a little scratchy. But Ithink these will need a little. Ill report back and let you know how they do. Jackie |
