Here is another link for those of you who are 'imagining' what a shaved cat looks like!

OMG Amanda....that cat looks so upset! It has the best expression on its face!

I wouldn't want to shave them down to the point of some of those photos, i'd be afraid they'd catch cold too fast.

I know! I was seriously considering shaving my cat so Nick sent me those photos. After I saw them I decided I didn't want to upset my cat like that!!

LOL! I'm not a cat person but my DH and his family are so I was a stepmonster for a while to a beautiful silver tip persian (looked just like the fancy feast cat). Anyway, DH never did a good job at brushing so it stayed constantly matted and don't even get me started on the hair. I had him shaved twice b/c I felt so sorry for him. All the matted area seemed so painful for the skin. Anyway, the first time I did it I laughed so hard I almost wrecked the car driving home home. He was pissed and pitiful looking but it was actually in his best interest. Good luck on what you decide to do! I can't imagine, as a general rule, that a shaved cat is a happy cat!

My brother in law and a good friend of mine have their cats shaved (professionally of course) both cats are very fluffy and get shaved to look like lions. Its adorable and they dont seem to mind. They are both indoor cats.

OK...I finally had to check out this post, too. The only shaved cat I had ever seen was Mr. Bigglesworth from Austin Powers--well it was hairless. So I figured that was what you meant until I checked out the photo links--that is one pissed off cat!
