| Jetgirls Ol' School Member | Baby Boy made his appareance on January 7, 2008 (he was due the 18th). Jack Harmon (family name) was born at 7:21pm and was 7lbs 10oz. He is perfect! I woke up on the 7th at 4am and felt crampy. I thought I was having gas pain (that is what it felt like) so I just stayed in bed until I had to get up to go to teach. It was a constant pain every 15 or so minutes, but I still didn't think anything of it! I went to school like normal but felt crappy. I should have known something was wrong when I went to school in January in a tshirt in NH! By 10am I was not feeling any better. Some of the teachers told me I should go home. I called Brendan at 10:30 and he told me to call my doctor. I didn't because I said they said not to call until I was 5 min apart....I didn't realize they were....I still thought it was gas! Shortly after I started to get awful pain in my back and Brendan came to pick me up at 11am. We came home and I told him I wanted to take a nap....he told me to pack my bag and get in the car! Yes, I hadn't packed a bag yet! We got to the hospital (the ride was awful....my contractions were 4-4.5 min apart the whole time and my hospital is 35 min away) around 1pm. I still thought they were going to send me home until they checked me and I was already 5cm and soft! I ended up getting an epidural at around 8cm.....and felt 100% better. I was torn between it until I actually went in labor.....it was the best thing I did. By 5pm I was 10cm and started pushing....for 2.5 hours! My contractions went from every 3 min to around 10-15 min! It was crazy. His heartrate would go down a bit during my pushing, so they didn't want to rush things. Finally they figured his hand was over his face and that was why he was having a hard time coming out.....they did end up having to help him in the end with the vaccuum and I had to have 3 stitches (not too bad, it was worth it). His head looked so sore for a the first few days, but now at 1 week, you can't even tell. Finally he was born at 7:21 pm. So it all happened pretty quick considering! Luckily Brendan had just come home Sat. night so he was here! I guess baby boy was listening when I told him what days he was allowed to come out and what days he wasn't! ![]() Last edited by rgphib; 01-14-2008 at 04:15 PM. |
