As this is my first post, I will keep it short, I too have been in your shoes! At this point after a meltdown, about 1 month ago. I had to really search my soul if our relationship was to survive. I looked at it as taking everybody and everything else out of the decision, did I want to be with this man, even if it was 10 minutes at a time. I chose to keep this pilot in my life. If you want anything badly enough you will strive for it. I am blessed as this pilot stayed through my struggle and had faith in our relationship, How lucky was I! As for the holidays, I am trying for the first time to use my companion pass to be with him and his family. I want to thank kristie, as I have been viewing as a guest this website for 6 months and it has given me comfort and so I have happily joined and am excited about it.

I appreciate the invite. I am 47,mother of two lovely(when they want to be) young women. One is 18 and the other 14. I have worked in the medical field for 25 years, I am currently interviewing for a new position, after 7 years as a medical secretary/surgery scheduler at a private orthopaedic clinic here in Winter Park. Married once and for too long. However I am soon to be off on the next adventure in my life, my pilot BF proposed on 12-09-06 and I accepted. Yeh! After a 2 1/2 yr part-time relationship. And that is exactly how we looked at it. We are getting married 06-30-07. So now my fiance is just starting position as FO at Commutair in Cleveland. So many changes upcoming soon. Being a very private person, I did lurk, waiting to make up my mind whether to join this site. I came to the conclusion that I did, so I', getting my feet wet. I have felt and lived the lines that you have all written. I feel welcome and not alone anymore. I need this site for education, encouragement and just knowing that their are strong women who have been living this flight of a lifetime that I am entering.

Congrats, but why not put the wedding off a week and get married on 07-07-07? (We were married on 09-09-99) Look forward to getting to know you more! What does BF do as a pilot?

JenniPage, any updates on you? I'm very new to this but I'll try. Commutair is a regional with Continental Connections they fly midwest and northeast commuter. I believe they are corporate owned, out of Plattsburg, New York which is very close to Canada. BF(or what do you call fiance?) was a midlife career changer. He is an Fo since 09-06 flies beechcraft 1900 turboprops. He is just beginning career, was cfi, then cargo, single-engine and twin here in florida. He was cfi when we met. Believe me, we had a difficult time selecting a wedding date. Question, my bf is concerned at this stage that he does not have a college degree, AA degree he has. I had not realized that it could be huge drawback not to have that. That blew me away because of the upcoming debts, with relocating or commuting whichever way we go. Any advice on that would be appreciated. ( I still have to figure out how to do a new post.) Beautiful pilot families on this site! Happy Ho! Ho! and may god bless!

DF for "dear fiance" i think... I actually don't like the "dear", it's kinda weird...i'd rather use M for "my" but then you end up with words like MD or MF which could be taken wrong...oh the quandries!!

btw, when is the art festival again? i used to live in altamonte springs...kinda miss the WP art fests!!
