It's not easy dating a pilot...We've all been there at one time or another.

If your currently dating a pilot of any age, no matter where he/she is in their career then you'll find this forum helpful.

Default Being "Not Shy" =)

Well hello boys! I'm here to see about that "straight and honest poop" claim! Just to fill you in a bit, I've been dating a Delta A330 pilot off and on for many years. We started dating when he lived here but we now live several hundred miles apart due to job transfers. We've been serious at times, then going our separate ways for a year or more, only to seek each other out again when other relationships ended. He is 49, never married, and what I want to know is what goes on in the life of a pilot that you think may contribute to a guy staying single so long. Like are there really Thai girls who will do *anything* and we American girls will just never cut it after a man has had THAT? lol YOU know what I mean! And is it safe to assume he's got a girl in every port? And have I got a shot at ever marrying this guy? Give it to me straight and hard, boys! It's time for this relationship to poop or git off the pot! Thanks - Helen in MO

Default P.S. to Being "Not Shy" =)

P.S. When asked what does he talk about up there in the cockpit on those loooooong flights, he said, "You don't want to know - you'd never fly again!" What!

If you want the information from the pilots, you'll probably want to hop over to jetcareers.com. That's where the pilots hang out.

Thanks Seatclutcher -
I had a little trouble navigating at jetcareers.com and Kristie tells me she alerts the boys if someone starts a new thread here. If I don't get any answers in a few days I will hop over there - any tips for getting to the right forum?
Thanks!
- - Helen

I'm not a guy but, my personal opinion is, if you believe any of that to be true about your guy, i'd walk... he's not marriage material. Pilots are as varied as anyone else. Some guys DO have a girl in every "port" and some DO have girls who will do anything - but by no means is that indicative of every pilot. There are many faithful loving pilot husbands (and wives) so I can't see how anyone could really answer those questions... even guys!

Ha Ha, I have not been on for a while, but I saw this and had to laugh. I am not a guy. Maybe the career keeps him single. This life style is not easy or for anyone. I love my independance and would go nuts to have someone home all the time everynight. I like my quiet time. Not a lot of women are secure enough to want to marry a pilot. Pay sucks, schedule sucks, walking thin ice in this furlogh crazy time sucks and it is not glamorous. People are people, some cheat some don't, some want security in a relationship and some have no respect. What goes on at work, I hear stories some cheat some don't. My Dh spends his over nights dodging bed bugs and solitude, I know first hand once he gets to work his main goal is go het home as soon as he can. Oh well good luck to you, play it straight it will work out.

I would say if he is almost 50 years old, and is not getting serious with you after a few years that its time to move on. Pilots, doctors, teachers, whatever, it doesn't matter what his profession is. Right here on this sight there are many ladies married to longtime pilots. If a guy wants to be with you he will be with you. Im sure you are tired of the relationship roller coaster too. I hope you two can figure your relationship out and either move on or stick together : )

Nah - they just don't come here often. (And when they do, it's surely not to hide behind skirts. )

If you visit jetcareers.com, just look for the "forums" button at the top. You'll be asked to log in or create an account. Once the account is created, click the forum button again. The Lavatory or the Family forum will probably be your best place to ask the male pilots if they're all players.
