how often do you talk to your significant other while you're apart? is it text message back and forth all day, or just a phone call at night, maybe a quick one at lunch too? are you two balanced in how much you want to talk each day or is it always the same one calling the other?

I've gotten in the pattern of having him call me when he gets the chance and doesn't feel so rushed...but I'll send him texts/emails throughtout the day...it just works easier for us that way...although, he's been home since oct, we seem to talk more orften on the phone than anything else! so weird...good luck...

He usually calls me when he has the chance. But we frequently text throughout the day. I often send him random emails throughout the day b/c I know he'll catch up on them when he gets to his hotel. Once he's at his hotel and I'm online too, we tend to chat on gchat.

Bill calls me inbetween flights and always when he gets to his hotel. We also see eachother on skype at night so he can see Liam.

Jeff usually calls me in between all of his flights, unless their a quick turn he'll text. I'll call him if I really miss him and hope I somehow reach him or I'll send him texts throughout the day just to say hi, i love you sort of thing. Also send emails for him to read when he gets to the hotel, like Shelley said. I don't really think about it too much unless I go hours and hours without hearing from him, then I start to get that little worried feeling inside that maybe something happened, but he always seems to call RIGHT when that starts. lol...I guess I'd say we're pretty balanced with the keeping in contact thing.

Same as Heffsrah, we talk between every leg. DH will text me, "Hehrow??" right after landing, then call, then an "I love you" text just before pushback. I'd say we're the extreme though... I definitely don't know anyone that talks more than us. When he gets in to the hotel, we'll usually "hang out" on the phone together for at least an hour or more. Sometimes fall asleep on the phone. I really love this about us!

We try to talk a couple times a day but if that doesn't happen then we at least try to talk once a day. He is going to the bahamas and stuff a lot lately so that makes it hard to talk because his phone card hasn't been working but we are trying to figure it out. We are always texting throughout the day. If I have something to tell him then I text him and he will get to it when he has a minute. But I leave most of the calling up to him because I never know where he is or what he is doing.

Libby, we do the same thing at night...I usually don't tell people that because some people think it is crazy but more nights than not we fall asleep on the phone I love it too!

Since DH is mostly in Europe, I talk to him before he takes off, and then he emails me when he gets into his hotel the next morning. I will get an email after his nap, and then before he goes to bed. I then talk to him when he lands back in the states on Day 3 of the trip.

We text everytime he lands somewhere, 25 min turnarounds mean not much chatting but if he's away overnight we spend hours of the evening chatting on webcams. Before having the portable laptop though we'd have been on the phones till we fell asleep too
