We don't really do anything for V-Day either, though if we are together I like to cook a nice meal.

I maybe the only person on the planet, but I don't like roses. To me they smell bad and are way to fragile for their cost.

I'm all about the big Gerbera daisies, especially in some obnoxious color like orange or hot pink. They're party flowers!

My hubby will actually be home. He just got the bid back and what do you know...he's got Valentine's off! The rest of the month looks pretty crappy, but...it's all good.

We don't do anything super romantic over here. In the morning I always make heart shape waffles for breakfast with this really cool waffle iron that we have (the kids love this) and I will prepare something nice for dinner and dessert. The evening before Valentine's I make each of the kids a large valentine card and leave it at the foot of their bed. They keep this card in a special place for an entire year and look forward to their "new" card. It is nothing special, (trust me- just a homemade by MOM card), but to the four of them it is very special.

That's it, like I said nothing super romantic over here just some mom cards and some food!

I admit this was just about my favorite holiday in grade school -- all the Valentines and candy! But I tend to be a crafty person...I love beautiful stationary, I am among the dying breed of postal letter writers! I have a heart shaped baking pan so most likely it will be kept simple with me just making a special cake. It doesn't have to be about gifts..in fact I don't want my sweetie to get me anything materialistic! I think guys often feel pressured and just go out and do something! With a house and bills and me in school it seems so petty to buy needless things when there is so much to save for. But I do think its important to do something nice everyday to let each other know you care - but those gestures are rarely about gifts!
Spread the love!

Thanks for bringing up such painful memories... I'd forgotten that Matt Everngam didn't put a valentine's day card in my brown paper bag in 3rd grade!!!! :`(

Well, this sounds a little bizarre... but... we started dating less than a week before Valentine's Day, so it was a little too early to do something special, since we weren't serious. I met him out with his friends one night at a place called Lucille's, because his friend had a crush on the bartender and they had 25 cent wings. At any rate, most of the guys were poo-pooing V-day and his friend Eric says "Hey, we should go to a titty bar!!!" I said what the hell, I've never been. So....... we went!! I have to say that it was a fun night! I think I told him that night that I knew I was going to marry him..

We also thought it would be a funny way to celebrate Valentine's Day each year (kind of as an anti-Valentine's Day thing).. we did it the year after that, but missed it the following year because he had to work.

Anyway, I would like to continue the tradition... I know it probably sounds weird or wrong to some of you, but it's fun for us... and since I started doing the strip-aerobics stuff, I like to critique their skills!!

Oh Lauren, you speak my language!!

But first, I LOVED Vday exchanges in school. I LOVED decorating my brown paper bag or shoe box. I didn't care who got me a little card. What mattered was that my card receptacle looked good!

Now, back to Lauren! I went to a titty bar for the first time (and only) in San Francisco for a friends Bachelor party (men and women joined in on his party). Strangely, it was fabulous fun! And now, w/ all the popularity around pole dancing classes and strip aerobics, I'd love to check out a class. Watching the women do their routines that night made it very clear that they get a good workout up there! So for me, in the confines of a class or the privacy of my own home, what a great way to maintain (or achieve) fitness while staying on top of your sexual prowess and confidence!!! YOU GO GIRL!!!
