Yeah, Dave and I haven't looked too closely at the passes either, because I haven't had time to utilize them yet. I think I may visit him in Charlotte, though. I think the partner passes are just for wives... Amanda, what did Nick have when you guys were Mesa-ing it?

| Hey JetBoy Blue, that is a pretty special feeling. Eagle has two levels of companion passes. The D2 is for spouses, domestic partners and children/dependents. Their travel is unlimited (except by embargoes that affect everyone), and they have the highest priority among nonrevenue passengers (same priority as the employee.) The D3 is for pretty much everyone else, but they have a limited number of passes available to them, and their priority is lower. It sounds like he's listed you as his D2 domestic partner. If this is the case, you can pretty much start travelling immediately. I remember that DD and I used our passes to go visit DH when he was in training in Dallas. You will not be given a pass or identification card of any kind. You will pretty much rely on the online flight listing program. Then when you go to the airport you will print a priority pass at the self-check in kiosk that will get you through security while you wait to be called (or not, depending on the flight load). It's a really easy system to use, and even allows for you to go online to look at the priority list to get an idea of your chances of getting on the flights. Oh yeah, you can check in online as early as four hours before the flight. Priority among D2s is determined by when you check in, so you definitely want to check in as soon as you are able to do so. Probably way more info than you needed at this juncture, but the bottom line right now is that you can go visit him in Dallas while he trains using his benefits, if you want/have time. |
