I went to a private Christian school. Their rule was....Christians dont dance! So if we wanted a dance it had to be parents sponsored at a different location than what prom was AND teachers were to be present outside the door so if you leave YOU DONT GO BACK IN! It was ridiculous! Glad to be gone. lol

| Jetgirls Member | Dinner and a movie...it was pretty casual. I learned later that he was head over heals for me that first date. That explains why he was being such an uber dork. I thought he was adorable. Totally not the "stereotypical" pilot. (Although it does come out sometimes so I have to smack him around a bit and nicely remind him he isn't God, he's a pilot.) We had a great time...he told me recently that he never thought he'd see me again after our first date. I guess he was really nervous. But obviously we both stuck around and are now going on four months. |

| you all are soooo lucky, our story is horrible, but its ours so I guess I have to claim it. I meet my DH in a bar in a resort town, he was smokjumping at the time. I was up staying with some friends. The only time that we could get together was the next weekend. So he drove down to Boise, about 2 hrs away. It was my BFF 30th birthday, so I told him that we HAD to go to her party. We meet eaarliler and went out for dinner and a movie, then went to meet up with her. By the time we got there, EVERYONE was drunk including my girlfriend, not only were they spilling all of the dirt on me, but the first conversation we had when we got there was, everyone sharing how long it had been since they had sex. When it came my turn I was looking at my friend like I am not going to answer this and she yells out the last time that I had. I turned 8 shades of red. It gets worse... We left we had to go move his truck, and he had to find a hotel to stay for the night, and ou plan was to bale on the party. We I called my friend to tell her, she was crying telling me that everyone had left and no one loved her, and I had to come back and meet them, and remember the party she threw me when I turned 30. Ok OK oK the guilt, I told her that we would come meet them, guess where they were....yep a strip bar. So here I am asking a guy I have know for 5 hours if he wanted to go to a strip bar. (by the way I didn't have to twist his arm to hard LOL) He was very much the BF that night he didn't stare to hard at the dancers, and when the crazy drunk guy next to me started trouble, he was there in a second pulling me out of the way and ready to fight. I look back and laugh, something must have gone right that night, but I wish we had a story tell first date.

| I remember our first date like it was yesterday. Our's was kind of like a blind date because all we really knew about each other was what everyone else had told us. We met at work. It was our friend Kim who really got us together. He was very nervous about dating in the work place because he had a bad experience in the past and I knew what a pilot's reputation was with the lady's so I wasn't to sure about going out with him either. But we both put our doubts aside and took a chance. He took me to a Detroit Tigers game ( Go Tigers!!!) We had awesome seats. We were in the lower level of Comerica Park about 10 rows back behind home plate. They were great. Before the game, he had planned on taking me to the Hockeytown Cafe for dinner but traffic was horrible. So we had these awful turkey subs at the park. It was the first Tigers game that I had ever been to that they actually won. And I had been to a lot of games. After the game we went to get on the people mover ( Detroits version of a subway ) and they were doing fireworks after the game so we watched those. We went to a little bakery for desert and then he took me home. It was the best first date I had ever been on. I knew my man was a keeper when I got the flu right after christmas in 2005. I was home from work and he just got done with a trip. He called me and said if I needed anything, even if I needed someone to hold my hair while I got sick he would do it. And I knew he wasn't just saying it to be nice. He would have actually held my hair while I got sick. It was the moment I knew that I wanted to spend the rest of my life with him. Nobody had ever been so nice to me!!! What about everyone else?? When did you know your's was the one?? Hopefully your stories are a little less gross than mine!!! Sorry to be so gross........... |

| Jetgirls Member | I met Frank when we were freshman in college. We went to different schools and I was visiting a friend from HS. We went to church on Saturday night and a girl said to me, "You should meet Frank because he's tall." So we went over and she introduced me to only Frank and no one else (there were 10 people just standing there). Anyway, it was awkward and nothing worked out then. I met him again a few months later and he tried to date me the next summer, but with his schedule and distance, it didn't work out. I dated another guy for 2 1/2 years and in the meantime, set Frank up on dates with my friends. (hee hee) Once we were in the same area and I broke up with my boyfriend, we went on a few dates. Our first date (we were friends for so long it was kind of hard to distinguish dates vs. dinner with a bud), was at my parents house. We had ribs with my dad, sister, brother, grandma and grandpa. Then we went downstairs and watched the Office. The funny thing is, I realized when we started dating that I loved him long before we dated - and he realized the same thing! He is a quality man, through and through. After our first kiss, I was hooked! We were engaged 9 months later and married 6 months after that. We have been married for almost 4 years. I love reading everyone's stories!! |

| Jetgirls Plus Member ![]() | I love the way Nick and I met- we were passengers on a USAir flight from PHL to PHX October 6, 2002. It's really cute story but it takes too long to write out (sorry I'm feeling lazy right now!). We talked the entire flight and I won him over when we went through some violent turbulence. I looked over at him and playfully said "ooooooo turbulence! I'm scaaaared!!" while laughing. We had a lady in the middle seat and I wish we had her phone number because we talked 'around' her during the flight and it was obvious that we liked each other. The weird thing was that Nick usually doesn't take USAir and wasn't supposed to be in my row. He asked the gate agent to move him to an aisle seat and that's why he ended up next to me!

| Well, I met DH when my motorcycle had issues. I took it to a new recommended shop. All the men were oogling my bike and making recommendations. This cool dude was sitting at a desk with his feet up. He eyed the bike and me and told me that all was perfect and not to change a thing. A week later I went to a friend's party and guess who showed up? We hooked up. The next night he took me out. He showed me what connections can bring...His roommate's parents owned a famous Philly restaurant. He did some side work for a former famous Philly venue, the Bijou (a 250 seat venue where everyone famous had debuted). Well he took me out to dinner at the roomie's parent's place and then to see Dr. John at the Bijou. And we've been riding together ever since... |

| WOW! It has been so wonderful reading this thread, it is just what I needed today. I took the day off to do wedding plan phone calls. We also met at Lake Eola in downtown Orlando, FL. I had taken my daughter to dinner with her bf and they were telling each other good bye for the summer. Having been married and waiting for my divorce to become final for over a year, I sat on the bench by the yacht club and I was deeply engrossed in thought wondering if my 2 daughter's lives would be more happy then mine had been. It was so beautiful that evening with the sky violet and blue with the setting sun. My best friend who was terminally ill with cancer at the time would go to the lake and talk, so you see the lake had always given me comfort. He had recently moved to Orlando and was flight instructing at Air Orlando and was running in the park. He came to me at the bench and just said HI, I looked up and said HI, looking at his eyes and smile, I was instantly happy in my heart. We talked for half an hour, he asked for my phone number but I did not give it but asked for his and his e-mail which he gave me. He said goodbye and as I watched him walk away I thought "Nice Butt" and he looked back and waved. For three weeks I thought about him and I sent an e-mail and we met right back at that park bench. We talked and kissed that second time, and I knew that this was someone I wanted in my life and the rest in history. The wedding is June 30th in Michigan and I look forward to all the fun! ![]() |
