The Dating Game

It's not easy dating a pilot...We've all been there at one time or another.

If your currently dating a pilot of any age, no matter where he/she is in their career then you'll find this forum helpful.

A lot of experience from those who have *been there, done that* can be obtained in this forum.

I'm going to get back to replying to all you guys, I swear! I haven't had time to really do anything since I've been checking at work the past few days.

Quick news: DH found a place to live via craigslist. super expensive (at least I think so), but at least he's not hotel-hopping anymore. And I know it's only temporary, but sometimes it feels like FOREVER! (I'm sure you've all been there, done that feeling). DH is in much better spirits too.

I'm surprised he didn't find something from the IAD crew room. Nick said in IAD there are always pilots who are looking for roommates. I hope your man didn't pay TOO much!!
All well, at least you found something and he has a place to sleep!

Yeah, DH is NOT frugal. He was in NY last night and ordered a $25 hamburger and coke from room service because he was tired, whereas I would have had something incredibly cheap just because I was tired and wouldn't enjoy it much anyways!

He's a silly boy, but I love him.

He should move into his new place on Friday, and maybe I'll get to see him Saturday or Sunday! Who knows, since they changed his schedule 6 times yesterday alone, lol.

No, Kristie, he doesn't have his car there because he's not sure how long he'll be domiciled there, and he accidentally left his laptop at his dad's house a million miles away!

I know it'll get better for us. If anything it'll make us stronger. And he's so worth it. I'm glad I have people to vent to that can understand, though. Thanks!

I am dating the most frugal guy in the world! And I'm starting to become like him!

I can see it now, we'll live in a 1 room shack with a broken down car (Geo Metro maybe) and after we pass away they'll find that we had millions of dollars!

DH is as frugal as they come! I used to tell him that there was a little bird who sat outside his window and sang "cheap, cheap....cheap, cheap"!

But honeslty, I am so lucky he is the way he is. We are able to have what we do have because of him. I am just like him now (well, not as bad as him, but pretty bad) and I thank him every day for being so good with our money.

He hardly ever eats out on an overnight. He will walk to subway or I will make him a bunch of sandwiches the day before he leaves. He said EWR is nice because they do have vending machine sandwiches and salads and he said they are cheap and really good.

DH has taught me so much about shopping that i really no longer "shop". i make a list, get what i need to get.. sometimes take too much time looking around but other than that...that's about it. I mean, we don't even have hardly any trinkets at the house cuz he taught me the "are you gonna dust it?" method of purchasing...along with "are you really gonna wear it?" and the "is it a need or a want?" purchasing methods. haha

heck, we don't even have curtains cuz "why have curtains when you already have blinds"..one of these days, i'm buying myself a set of curtains for the living room dang it!

so shopping is really no longer a form of *fun* which is kinda sad when you think about it....girls are supposed to shop and spend your money.

Okay, I use all those shopping methods, and I don't have trinkets unless someone else has bought them for me, but you NEED curtains for aesthetic purposes! Curtains make me feel better...I don't know. Makes a place home.
