This weekend was SUCH a nightmare!!

first, my sister and her entire family (hubby & Julia) got sick... I was supposed to go to florida, then decided not to because I didn't want to get whatever respiratory crap they had going on...I was so looking forward to seeing Julia run around, go to epcot for the season and shop at the property control xmas sale! but onto another weekend, we go!

so then, when I decided to stay home - Doug and I decided to go live with the new dedicated server... OH WHAT A NIGHTMARE... the service provider was able to get everything working EXCEPT for jetcareers...and on top of it, they did a dump of the pf database on 12/1.. but we went live on 12/3 and they didn't redump it so we'd have all the threads.. so we lost some threads (12/2-12/3)... that was the first thing that went wrong there...

but JC was all f*d up...and offline until just now...We went thru tech support after tech support... we could tell when we were talking to India and we could totally tell when we were talking to Chicago (main HQ) because they were the only ones that understood our issues...so the call center in India did absolutely zero good because they didn't READ what problems we were sending them and then they were telling us it was our problem when we're not hte managers of the server - they are....so, whoever put the databases together went way too quickly and bumbled the whole thing up... doug and I for sure thought we were gonna lose all the information in JC... how freekin scary is that?! 8 years worth of data and contacts lost!! oh...we have gray hair now! hahahha

so after 3 days & 3 nights of going from tech support to tech support, we finally got someone that knows their stuff and by golly - they better be paying him well cuz he's worth every penny!!

so finally, JC is back up.. we still have a lot of issues on the backend with some things but it shouldn't affect any of our 6 sites - it'll probably be this weekend before i stop growing gray hairs!!

but OMG WHAT a NIGHTMARE this weekend was....I can't wait for that tasty foamy beer tonight!!!

Wow--yikes! Now you are experiencing what us airline customers (I'm that too) experience since many are outsourcing customer service to India!

Thanks for all your hard work! You deserve some libations!

Thanks girls! at least this site is operating correctly...I'm pretty grateful for that...

but JC man...oh man...it's not even near fixed apparently - just heard tonight that they're going to re-migrate the information over, which will probably take all night.. and then merge the old/new database (from all the posts that will happen tonight) and resync with the new server...

and here we thought it was fixed.. it's not.. it's just pointed back to the old server...

ARGH!!
