not only that, but did you notice that Exxon put in the paper today that they made record profits this past quarter? over any other corporation/company out there to date!!!!!!

THAT in itself - says something! it also totally explains why gas prices have not gone down!

how long will 2 55 gal tanks be able to last?

It's already gone! But a few more gas stations now have either power or generators. And W said we have to be patient. So, we'll be patient!

Update Day 10:

Still no power or phones. The electric company has no clue as to when we'll have power--they give us a range of any day up until the 22nd. Now they increased it to the 28th.

Staff and patients have been incredible. We even had two families who came to check up on their daughters have to stay with us because their hotels were closed. That was a challenge--caring for families while providing therapy to patients. We have four new admits coming--despite the conditions. The sister of my HR Rep works at a nearby nursing home that has laundry facilities powered by generators. They let our staff do laundry for the facility and the patients. That was so wonderful. And to the company, who we don't even know, that responded to our desparate post for help and provided us with two 55 gallon gas drums, the pump and the gas (two refills also) out of Melborne--we are eternally grateful. They saved the lives of our people who were literally stranded with no power and no way out.

Therapy is continuing and the patients have bonded over this. Staff are wonderful and the chefs are doing a great job. Our healing garden is destroyed, though.

Yesterday it rained and now it's hot and humid. There are no fans to be found. So we found some in Philly and are overnighting them--but only six of them.

Charlie had an overnight in FLL over the weekend. He said it was eerie. Businesses are boarded up. There is darkness everywhere and a curfew after 7 PM.

Roz, this is insane! Why isn't the news covering this more? They just made it sound like it wasn't that bad and now it's over!!

If there's anything Eric and I can do please let us know. They're in our prayers already.

Sorry to hear about the healing garden. If you think they'd like seeds or flowers to replant let me know. I can try to get some down there.

Take care,

No, it fell off the news after the Supreme Court nomination on Monday. Thank you for your kind offers. I'll ask about the seeds Tanya.

The GREAT news is that tonight the power was restored at our facility!
