| Admin/Owner ![]() | Anybody have anything neat or interesting going on besides all the latest drama in the Family Korner section? I just started back to work today.. not too hard to get back into the riggamaroll of things. Glad to be inside because it's been in the 100's for a few days now and will probably continue that route thru the rest of summer! |

| Jetgirls Ol' School Member | I am getting ready to go to FL tomorrow, w/o Corbin, WITH Caleb, for a whole week. Am I stupid or what? LOL. Hopefully the airport people will have some nice pity on me and decide I don't need every crevice of my body and belongings searched while holding a two year old, a car seat, and a carry on. |

| Jetgirls Ol' School Member | I took my first Organic Chemisty exam today. It was horrible. There wasn;t enough space for answers, the wording was unclear, and the information the professor told us to study wasn;t on it. On the upside I went and showed my wedding dress to a friend, took her to try on bridesmaid dress and we went out to lunch. It was a lot of fun! Super great-John is coming home tomorrow, and we are leaving for vacation with his family on Saturday. Flying to Wyoming, hiking Jackson Hole and Grand Tetons, and no chemistry for a week |

| I had a great weekend up at my parents farm. It was the open house for my dad's new hangar/aviation maintenance facility. I shut my finger in my car door Saturday afternoon. It hurt. I drilled it Sat night, and it helped, but I ended up going to the urgent care facility at the hospital to have it x-rayed Sun morning. It's not broken, but I will loose the nail, and it looks really nasty. |

| Jetgirls Ol' School Member | You drilled it? How does one drill a finger? I hope I am being incredibly stupid by thinking you got a drill gun and drilled a hole in it. Cause that sounds really painful!!! Hope you feel better soon! I've lost toe nails but never a finger nail. |

Michelle, I think Amber means she drilled (filed?) the nail down as much as she could.. since she'll lost some of it (that SUCKS! and I remmber how much those owwies hurt!), it was a good idea to do before it got too black and blue to fall off....well, at least it's not broken - that's a good thing! But I did have to learn some of it for the wastewater courses...nothing like hearing about biodegradable gunk for months on end! hahahave fun in the Rockies... make sure you post the photos when you get back!! |

| O. Chem was the hardest chem class I took, until P. Chem. But I learned that O. Chem has great applications for things like Biochem, which is my field. It's a pain in the butt to learn, but so usefull once you put it into practice. What I found out with O. Chem is that it seems so dry and unapplicable, until I took biochem. Anyway - I have a job interview tomorrow/today (Tuesday) doing tech support for a biotech company and their product. It pays $48K/year. I'm very excited for this job. I hope I get it. And if I don't, I have an invitation to a job fair this saturday that I can go to if I get someone to cover my shift at work. |

| Drilling a nail is the unpleasant-sounding but necessary & pain relieving procedure of taking a sewing needle (or other similarly sharp object) and putting a small hole in your nail to let the trapped blood out from under the finger nail. When a severe blow to the nail happens blood vessels under the nail rupture, the heart keeps beating, sending more blood there, but with the fingernail in the way there's nowhere for that blood to go. So you feel horrible pressure & throbbing until you relieve that pressure and give that blood a 'way out'. It sounds painful, but you only go through the [i:6c0fb75086]nail[/i:6c0fb75086], which is painless, once you reach the pocket of blood, the pressure is released, you never actually go into any skin. It doesn't hurt and it makes your finger feel [b:6c0fb75086]much[/b:6c0fb75086] better! |

| Jetgirls Ol' School Member | You are such a tough cookie. I'd have to have the Dr do that. I don't think I could do it to myself. Smart too, I would not have known to do that. I hopes it's getting better! Krisitie--Corbin isn't coming with me because my mom paid for the tickets and Caleb has to be in his own seat, and my sister is coming back with me because she is moving here to go to BYU, so that was about all my mom could afford. She found the tickets for $150 each round trip, but times 3 tickets already that's just lots of money. She would rather see me and Caleb then Corbin so he gets to stay home ![]() |
