| Admin/Owner ![]() | my project manager (PM) is the best project manager i've had my entire career...she sticks to her deadlines keeping clients happy, keeps the bottom line up in the black keeping company higher ups happy, keeps her employees motivated and wanting to work for her.. and she helps her employees learn so they can excel in their careers and move up (not everyone does that). she's one of the best out there in the business that actually gives a damn about everyone and everything and she's a constant worker who will work weekends and bend over backwards to get the client what they need. but the company has been taking advantage of her and has been telling her that she's not giving "her all". she's the one that comes in at 6am, leaving at 5:30, working weekends.. constantly on the go with 2 kids and a hubby at home....what more can she do? So, she just today put her notice in...ie: she's leaving... she's going to stay for a month to help with the transition process...but she's had it and is moving on. at this point, i don't blame her and am actually a bit surprised it took her this long to tell them to F off... now, we already lost our other PM, so production staff (like myself) will have no project manager to look after our projects or review our work before it goes out to the client(s). this is not good news. I've been with this company for 4 years, i've watched people leave and people come in (constant fluxuation here simply because mgmt are boneheads and don't treat their people with the respect they deserve)and Kim (my PM) was our best asset (in the entire office!!!)...our traffic team has kept this office afloat for years now since the roadway team can't seem to keep a PM nor get any good jobs that it doesn't eventually screw up...i always figured if she goes, we are ALL screwed because it is extrememly hard to keep good talent in the engineering field and she's one of the best out there that i know of...hell, our whole team would follow her if she asked, that's how good she is. I also always figured - if she goes, i go.. simply because now i know that company management has hit bottom, treated their best employee the worst and simply no longer give a rats ass about any of their employees.. you just don't dump on a excellent employee and tell them their doing a horrid job when they're actually the ones that's keeping this office moving in upward profit. that should never happen. now, management is all hugs and kisses to her telling her they'll fix the problems and treat her better if she stays - does that sound like any other management we know? haha so now, i have a choice... to stay and watch this place fall apart or start looking for a new job. there's really no doubt in my mind that it won't be long before they start letting people go because there aren't enough project managers around to keep work coming in and go out with quality....it'll take forever to find a project manager that can hit the high notes she hits.. esp since engineers are very hard to find right now (much less *good* engineers).... i'm at a cunnundrum employment wise...

| Well, its always hard to say, but I suggest keeping your options open just incase. I had a fear that my job security was in danger for similar reasons and went out and found a much better opportunity and Oct. 8th is my last day here. My employer made a counter offer which I thought over for the night and gave my formal resignation letter the next day. That night I read that its never a good idea to accept a counter offer for various reasons, such as your employer will put you on the top of the list for layoffs, you'll probably get a bad review, you'll probably get a crappy raise, and so on... Good luck! |

| Does she have another job lined up already? If so, ask her if they're hiring and if she'd put in a good word for you!!! If not, I say start looking. Don't wait til it gets so bad that you're dreading the thought of going to work everyday. It's not worth it. If that doesn't work though, i'm with Michelle LOL! |

| Jetgirls Plus Member ![]() | You know my thoughts on this already- get the heck out! However, if you want to find a new job (and not do web stuff/own your own company) then wait until the new year. I was given the advice that most companies exhaust the budget in December and then in January it is replenished. You will probably see more jobs available in January too. Or you can quit now, travel a lot and have Christmas and New Year's off! |

| Admin/Owner ![]() | well, i went to happy hour with a few of the girls from the office... we all needed to vent some i guess about various office activities goings on! haha and what i think i'm gonna do is stay put for the time being, start working more on my outside projects (even while at work, i don't care what they really think anymore) and get those built up to where i can quit or switch companies... she did say that she's going to be starting a whole new traffic group and to make sure i give her my cell number (i assume that's a good sign).. so we'll just see what happens.. but my fear is that if i leave and go to a new job, my side businesses are going to go to the wayside and i don't want that happening again like it has the past few months. we'll see if she wants me in her team still..she did say that our team was the main reason she thought about staying but when the company head (CEO) treats you like crap and disrespects you so badly, then it was almost like she really had no choice but to go. again, i don't blame her.. but i think there will be major backlash because of this one and we'll either end up losing a lot of people or losing a lot of people, jobs and marketing!! i heard tonight that our marketing person isn't happy and can you imagine if we lose all of our important PM's and the one marketing person in the office what would happen? we'd just be totally screwed for a LONG time coming...
