| OK. Now that I have that out of my system and a beer IN my system, let me vent to you. The only guy in my dept who I even get along with, let alone can do his job, is leaving us. He was offered a position in the QA dept and took it willingly. My dept is being run by a complete BONEHEAD and she is making it a literal living hell to work there. There are 3 other people who I work closely with who I like, but they are admin support staff, so having them around is really only moral support for me. The other 5-7 techs in the dept are not only completely insane buttkissers, but they're not very good at their job either. This leaves ME to take up his slack. I'm not happy about it, because I KNOW I can't fill his shoes. But anyone else trying to fill his shoes destroy the dept. So, after his announcement of leaving the dept next month, I volunteered to take 1/2 his duties. Since my current duties are on hold (for reasons I'm not at liberty to say), I really don't have many extra responsibilities. So I feel I could not only handle his stuff, but I'm about the only one in teh dept qualified to take over for him. I'm not happy. He's the most senior person in the dept and the only one who really knows what's going on. With him gone, I'm not sure what's gonna happen. Not to mention, they're gonna probably move some whiny bitch into his cube and I don't wanna sit next to her. She drives me bananas. OK. Thanks for letting me vent. I think I'm done now. My mom, Eric my co-workers and now you all have heard my vent; I guess I should suck it up and get over it and just deal. |

| Jetgirls Ol' School Member | I love not having to work other than being a mom. My kids can't fire me and I don't have any co-workers (well, other than dh lol) Sorry you are having a hard time, I don't really like other people so I understand totally! |

| thanks. I can't wait for the day that I'm a SAHM and Eric's actually making money. I know the troubles will be different, but I'm looking forward to those days anyway. My co-workers went with me after work to buy some makeup and beer. They're good to me. Tomorrow's another day. |

| today's been crap too. My boss is incompetent and she keeps scheduling things at BAD times. I keep telling myself, "It's only a job. It's only a job. It's only a job." ONe day I'll believe it. My co-workers (who work in my dept but have a different job) keep telling me I need to go network with other depts and work in R&D. I think I'd like that. |

| Jetgirls Plus Member ![]() | I feel your pain. My work life has been going down hill steadily. I was passed over for a promotion so now my job is in limbo. I might take a job in another dept, but it will mean I will have to fight to get days off. Why couldn't I win the lottery?!?! |

| Admin/Owner ![]() | don't you have flex time at your job Amanda? sometimes, a lateral move can really be a good thing - we typically think of $$ when it comes to job moves, but sometimes work stress and peace of mind become more important! if you think you'd like to move, then take the risk. |

| Lateral move ... that's what Matthew did. And now my friends here are saying I should look into the same thing and move to R&D. To add to the crappy news of Matthew leaving our dept, my "Aunt" Audrey died this week. I need a beer. |
