| I started a fire today. I was at the Hilton attending a Legislative Conference today. I had my materials and handbag in my right arm. I had my coffee mug in my right hand. I went to find a bran muffin and wrapped it in a bunch of napkins. By then I wanted more, hot coffee. So I went to fill it up. But they had the urns on top of a ledge. So I put the muffin down and proceeded to fill my cup. A guy said, "M'am, is that your muffin?: I said yes. He said, "It's on fire." I looked. The napkins had gotten drawn into the flame under the coffee urn. They was now blazing. So the guy is standing there watching, not helping, while I use my one free hand to try to snuff out the raging flames. I succeeded. He just walked away. The muffin was fine. And my right hand that had been holding the hot mug??? The hand is blistered because hot coffee spillied all over it as I frantically snuffed out the flames with my left hand! But the good news is that my brand new drop dead gorgeous Ellen Tracy robins' egg blue blazer (that I got for an unbelievable price at Off 5th) is not covered in coffee! YAY!!! |

| Admin/Owner ![]() | well, i'm glad the muffin was ok! it would have been horrible eats had it been crunchy! glad to hear your clothes came out of the ordeal just fine! must've hurt something awful to burn your hand like that!! Did you find a first aid kit to put some burn cream on it? I'm surprised the guy didn't try to help you out at all?! what's with people now a days? someone gets hurt, but nobody helps because of the consequences of "helping"? sheesh.... so, what's it like attending a legislative conference? not trying to be fecetious, just wondering if it's as boring as some of the gov't meeting you see on TV and all |
