I hate being sick!!!!!

I spent the first year or so sick constantly, from being around the masses of humanity. Then it was like I suddenly became immune to everything. For the rest of my 7 years flying I never got sick again!

I was always sick in HS. Gone for a couple days a month for what the PA diagnosed as sinus infections.

My jr year we got sick of it and removed the tonsils. Was rarely sick after that. A couple times in college - but what do you expect in the dorms?

Then ... moved to Cali, and I've been sick 5 or 6 times in the last year. And that's not even counting the annoyances with my allergies.

I hope it goes away soon.

AMEN Amber! I was constanly sick my first year. Now, even when Jason and Ben are both terribly ill, I never get anything. I think I've been sick once since I had Ben and it was just a 12 hour something or other. It was probably food poisoning or something.

when ya'll have major chest congestion - what type of tea do you drink? I got myself some green tea with honey but dunno if it's going to work.. so figured i'd ask if there's any particular type of hot tea you think actually works!!

When I get sick, I don't bother with tea - I go straight for the hot toddies...they don't do anything to help, but they sure make you feel better!

I don't know about tea, but my husband swears by "TheraFlu". I, personally, can't stand the taste of it, but if you can get it down then it should help. I hope everyone feels better!

theraflu is awesome, but I can't get it down anymore, so I stick with sudafed and some hot tea. Any tea will work, because it's the hot steamy fluids that's good for you. Green tea has anti-oxidants in it that keep you from getting sick, but once you're already sick you just need to tough it out.

Sorry you're sick Kristie. If it's any consolation, I was 90% again the next day. Although my boss was sick that entire week.

hope you didn't get what I got(have). I've been sick now for over 2 weeks and am just FINALLY starting to get better. I ended up going to the doc once the cough set in (week 1.5) because it was disrupting me at work so much and no OTC cough syrups were doing the trick. She hooked me up with some cough syrup with codene in it, took that on Friday night and now I'm feelin great (haven't taken it since). I definatly feel i'm on the mend now (knock on wood)

yup, i can relate to the hot toddies... i started with raspberry vodka last night! a couple of shots and my throat was nice and numb!! figure most cough syrups have alchohol so why not go right to the source right? haha

oh and that vox raspberry vodka - petty good/smooth stuff.. pricey though!

figure if i drank enuff, 1) i'd have a hangover and would be sick anyways 2) i'd have some fun with it and 3) it'd get the cold on the move!

the first one didn't work (probably because when you have a cold, you don't notice the drunkeness effect as easily).. but 2 & 3 did.. it's now up in my head and most of the chest congestion is disappearing! yay!!

geez em, you must have gotten a good bug! Mine's just a blasted cold and is "lucky for me" on the move today...

I can't stand that theraflu stuff.. it's so icky tasting it's hard to get down! I pretty much swear by the sudafed (non-drying) most of the time and vick's expectorant.. one thing i've noticed thru the years - if you don't take the right medication for the symptoms you have at that time, it sticks with you longer... so no theraflu unless i actually DO have the flu!!
