Default Did ya'll vote yesterday?

and if so... did your people win? what were the worst propositions you saw?

I voted "ANGRY" and fired everyone (except the court justices & napalitano)... but Jon Kyl is still in office.. he's the only one i didn't vote for. We had some interesting propositiions on the plate too and it was interesting to see the outcomes...

- two different smoking ballots in which one is for banning smoking in restaurants AND bars whereas the other is ban smoking in restaurants NOT bars...the restaurant AND bars passed, the other did not... i'm assuming the other did not pass because it included "minors not allowed in bars" and had no information about enforcement whereas the other amendment did...
- English is now AZ's state language..
- no bail for illegal immigrants actually passed - i was hoping it'd fail because it's just a very unfair proposition towards sex offenders, drug addicts and illegal immigrants. everyone should get the opportunity to bail out so they can clear their name.
- illegal immigrants can no longer seek punative damages in a lawsuit case (that's a good thing).
- banning same sex marraige didn't pass... it's funny but the proposition actually states that same sex marriage is already banned but this is for medical coverage and all that jazz.. i'm glad it didn't pass...
- no lottery for voters (that was the funniest proposition i'd seen)
- 2nd funniest was requiring mail in ballots thereby getting rid of polling places... how stupid would that be? voting is a right, not mandatory
- limiting emminent domain via goverment entities was passed, so that's a VERY good thing...
- pay raises for state legislatures did not go thru.. i did vote no on that simply because i don't see how they've really dont that good of a job in the last 2 years.. still too much pork being spent.
- banning probation for meth users was passed...i can't remember how i voted on that but i think the ban might be a good thing....keeps them off the streets if they offend more than once.

and i think that was it....so far, i was quite pleased to see how many turned out to vote and how many voted angry like i did!! we can't continue to let this country slide downhill any longer....

Everyone I voted for won! I was happy. Especially cause Eric votes opposite of me LOL! So he LOST (muahahahah) It's o.k. though, I didn't vote for Bush and he did so I lost that one... (actually we all did).

The oddest thing on our ballot was a proposition to allow people to shoot morning doves. It didn't pass luckily.

Our good friend of the family kept his seat on the State House so I was glad to see that, he's not in my district so I didn't get to vote for him. Luckily 61% of the people who are in his district did ; )

about half the people I voted for won - We also had an amendment to ban affirmative action (racial, ethnic and gender) in all public education, gov't jobs and something else - that passed. I was pissed that it passed. Talk about rolling back the clock. It'd be one thing if everyone started out on equal footing but there is still such a disparity here it's not even funny!

We also had an eminant domain proposal that passed (so gov't cant take private property and give it to another private entity or if they do they have to compensate 125%)

We had a difficult Senate race. They both agree in the wrong direction from my opinion on some major issues. I did not have an opinion till I stepped into the booth.

But everyone else I voted for won!

My issue with affirmative action is that if it is meant to give people a chance, it should do so for all people from poor economic situations, with not the greatest schools, etc. I know why it was originally started, but I do think times change. (I hope this doesn't sound horrible. I taught in a poor community last year and none of my students had the opportunity to take ap tests, etc. )

I agree with that...instead of it being via ethnicity or race.. it should be via income considering middle class is disappearing...

give everyone a chance to live a comfortable life
