Default OMG, i cannot stay awake today!!

ok, so sue me, i took a 3 mg melatonin last night before bed (11:30) hoping i would wake up completely refreshed and i woke up so groggy, i hardly heard the alarm go off...

Anyways, last night was the first night of trying melatonin and now, i'm assuming 3mg is too much because i just cannot keep my eyes open and it's like 2 in the afternoon now.

So, just wondering...when your super tired, what do you do to wake yourself up and out of it?

I guess tonight i'll try 1.5 mg (half a dose) and see how that affects...I slept like a rock, but i can't afford to sleep like a rock during the day too! haha

Oh, I am so jealous! I would love to sleep like a rock, but if I take anything to help me sleep, i'm like you and can't function the next day. Oh, how I miss a good nights sleep

Good luck with the 1/2 dose. I hope it works for you!

Ok, so I'm a little clueless on the melatonin thing. Is this an OTC med? Melatonin is natural right? I know these are probably dumb questions but I need something help me sleep but doesn't keep me zombie-like during the day. Heaven forbid should Mommy sit down on the job! LOL

I tried melatonin a few years ago & bought two big bottles of it at GNC for the "deal." Problem was it knocked me out & I felt like a zombie the next day, too. I think I have the expired remnants of the bottle. I think I took two doses before I gave up on it. But, I often have trouble sleeping as well and have realized that a half of a Benadryl works. I can even take a whole one when I need to now. It also helps my allergies so I don't wake up so stuffy.

well, i tried half a pill last night and i wasn't "as" zombie like.. but still had a hard time waking up.. so i think after this weekends trip, i'll try a quarter tab and see how that does.

As it is, i did notice that i slept hard and never woke up or tossed/turned while taking the two i've taken now...we'll see how it goes and i continue the trials....

Melantonin is a natural OTC med.. i think it's herbal....but from what i know, we all have melatonin in our system, this just boosts it so we can sleep better...but that's what i understand about it.
