well, there is certainly a lot of arrogance and general attitude on this particular forum. bragging about not being interested is rather obtuse.

i grew up in a very conservative houshold and held views similar to my parents for many years.

that, however, does not preclude me from gathering information from opposing points of view and forming an independant, informed opinion of my own. at the very least, i try refrain from forming an opinion based on information from a biased media.

i don't carry an opinion about mm as a person as i do not know him. 'married' asked a simple question of why, and no one who responded that they don't like him has even watched his films. what a wonderful display of intelectuality.

cheers ladies, i am off to LAS.

flame away!

Karla- I guess I just hate media hype, and there was SO much hype about F9/11, so many previews and interviews with Michael Moore, and I guess I just got tired of "YOU MUST SEE THIS MOVIE" everywhere. I resent being told what I 'have to see'. I guess nobody here meant it that way, it's just how it seemed to be coming across. No worries.

wscrj- You've been a member here for a week, please get to know us before calling us arrogant, obtuse or questioning our intelectuality. No one is here to 'flame' anybody. We pride ourselves on keeping our discussions quite out of the mud. All I've given is my opinions. Which others may or may not share. Nobody has to have the same opinions as any/everybody else.

Quite frankly, I can't understand why this has become such an issue. Some of us choose to see this movie, some don't. I just said I have no desire to see it, I was asked why, so I said why!

In all seriousness though, please do get out and vote! Especially in your local elections. You'd be amazed at how much these local politicians can directly impact your community.

Wow!! This discussion got a little heated (ha! ha!)

I really WANT to see the movie I just haven't gotten around to it yet. I think that MM has good intentions, although from what i've heard of his movies he's allowed too much of his personal opinion to play out. I think he originally intended to show the numerous "cracks" in our political system. We all know that there are NUMEROUS problems in government (no matter who the president is or will be). I think MM just wants to shed light on some things we may not get to see. Maybe i'm a little naive about MM (or maybe i'm just hoping that there's someone out there trying to reveal the truth). I don't think that his movies are all factual (editing I suppose), but then again I haven't seen one.

O.K. I'm rambling now... pregnancy brain (he! he!)

Night all.

Tanya

A lot of arrogance and general attitude?

where'd you get that impression - just from this one particular thread? I'd say at times, we're opinionated yes... if we weren't.. we'd all be the same type of person and it'd be an awfully boring life! If we have a generalized attitude, it's because, with some topics, we think alike because of the common similarities in our lives. But I don't think we're at all "arrogant".

Jesse, your a new character here, why are you making personality judgements so quickly? jeez, take some time and get to know us first before automatically labelling us like that!!

I actually think there's a great bunch of gals on here.. we all live in different areas, have differing lives, think differently and yet, have something in common as well...I'd get together with any of the ladies on here

This isn't a political board and I normally don't allow political threads unless it's airline related...the thread really shouldn't have gotten (or seemed) heated...since it did, i'm gonna close it and say "www.arguepolitics.com" and if you want to continue the conversation, your more than welcome to take it over there (it is a free board as well, for now)...
