I really don't have anything against Michael Moore at all! If i had an interest in seeing the movie, I would have seen it.. I just don't have much of an interest!

but what did you think about it, since you saw it and all?

What does everyone have against Michael Moore? I have never seen anything else he has done so I am honestly asking.

I am very put-off by his arrogance & general attitude. Everything I have seen of him (news clips, his appearance at the RNC) does nothing to better my view of him. He has every right to be who he is, and to produce his 'movies', but I have the right to not want to see them!

Kristie - don't get day after tomorrow, it was lame and predictable, and the acting sucked.

as far as MM, I like him a lot, I've seen him speak twice now on campus. This last time was right before F9/11 came out, and he said that he doesn't really care about the money - he believes in what he is doing and that everyoen should see the movie whether or not they want to pay for it is up to them. So, there are bootleg copies out there and if you're interested in seeing it but not paying on principle (or wahtever your reason is) I'm sure you can find a copy on the internet. or at a library.

As far as F9/11 the movie itself, I really enjoyed it. It was obviously biased but I still enjoyed it. I had read his book "Dude, Where's my Country" and F9/11 was basically a movie version of the book that expanded on it a bit. THe one nice thing about F9/11 is that MM doesn't really talk a lot in it - he lets the people do the talking (the soliders, the mother, the iraqis etc)

I would really recommend everyone go see Bowling for COlumbine. It isn't a political movie at all (at least, i didn't see it like that) and it was actually very moving. He talks more in this movie which somewhat takes away from it, but it's still worth seeing.

ok that's my .02 on MM

Like I said earlier, it's not only a waste of my money, it's also a

WASTE OF MY TIME.

If someone else chooses to watch, or has positive feelings about Michael Moore, great. Spend your time & money how you want. Make your own decisions. My decision is not to waste any time/money/energy on anything to do with Micheal Moore.

Once again, I have to agree with everything you said. However, you said it in a much nicer way than I would have! Personally, I can't stand the guy, and will never watch any of his movies or read any of his books even if they were free. Just my opinion.

Then what sucks is that Michael Moore made this movie and not someone else. If someone else had made the film would you watch it then?

Kristie, to answer your question on what I thought about it, simply put, I was blown away. The thing that got me the most was that the interviews, appearances, speeches, statements that the president made were all real. It was all done before or during the making of the film by HIM. He can't look back on any of it and say "I didn't say that" as we watched him do on a daily basis during the debates. Was the movie a bit slanted? Parts of it, yes, but I'm smart enough to know the difference. Most of it was very real, honest and raw information coming from a mother who lost her son in Iraq and from soldiers who are over there fighting this war for us so that our husbands don't have to. I'm glad that I saw the movie. I'm glad that I didn't have any preconceived notions about this movie or about Michael Moore. I'm glad that I'm open-minded enough to watch evidence that is put before me and make my own decisions as to what I think about it. And I'm definitely glad that I don't see educating myself about our president (from any angle) a waste of my time.

I didn't see it and do not intend to. I do not like Michael Morre for all of the reasons mentioned previously. From what I have been told by some friends that that have seen it, they say it is very (unfairly) one-sided. Yes, it has clips of the preseident saying certain things, but maybe they were taken out of context?... and also Nick has a lot of friends in the military who have said that there are many positive changes happening in Iraq and the soldiers are proud to serve our contry. That's all I'll say on the matter! I don't believe everything I read/hear from the media.

On a completely different subject, I saw Team America: World Police. Nick dragged me there; I didn't want to see it. I can say that I almost peed my pants some of it was so funny! I don't buy many DVDs/viseos, but I'm buying this one! You have to like the humor of South Park... this movie may offend some people. I may see it again!

I don't care if he made it or not, I would not watch this movie. I don't care for the content as I believe it to be completely one-sided and biased, based on the reviews and previews that I have seen. Just the fact that he made it is even more reason for me not to waste my time or money on such propaganda. That's just my opinion. Glad you didn't feel you wasted your time and money on it, as that is your right.

The same movie just made by someone else? Nope.

I educate myself about the canidates, thankyouverymuch, there are many different ways to go about it. Seeing F9/11 is not required material in my opinion to be educated.

Like I said before, if someone enjoyed the movie, great. That's the great thing about America, you're free to watch and enjoy whatever movies you want. But if I don't want to see it, I don't have to. I don't have to like Michael Moore, and I can educate myself about the canidates by whatever means I see fit.

Agreed.

I never said I was on the Michael Moore bandwagon. In fact, what I did say is that I hadn't seen any of his other work so I asked why exactly people had such a problem with him. But really, I don't care if people like him or not. I have no opinion of him. He just happens to be the guy that made a movie I happened to see. I didn't set out on a mission to see this movie and then change the world with all the new information I gained! Seriously, I have a 1 year old and a 3 year old, both boys. I'm lucky if I get to see a movie at all! I knew who I was voting for before I saw the movie and in the end my decision didn't change. You are obviously very passionate about your decision to NOT see this movie. Great! My original post was: "Has anyone seen F9/11? What did you think?" That's it. I was hoping that more than 2 people on this entire board had seen it and would be willing to say what they thought of it. Apparently not.

That's all.

Truce?
