| Non-reving on delta or on any other carrier during the holidays does seem insanely difficult. comair is hard to non-rev on too--even to tiny little places like Erie, PA where I'm from! sometimes if you try you end up getting lucky but it can be a real bummer to get stuck somewhere too. Not much has been going on in my neck of the woods. I aced my HR Management mid-term and now there are only about four more weeks left of the semester so I am putting the finishing touches on my papers. on the down-side I found out that I need to get braces...it will only be for two years and i'm still relatively young (24) but i'm still not excited at all about the idea. the only positive thing about it is that i won't have to have head gear..phew! and DH's insurance is going to cover about 75% of the cost. How is everyone else doing? Good luck with the move Roz! |

| Admin/Owner ![]() | Congrats on HR Management! feels good don't it? I still have 8 weeks to wait for my results.. hopefully, it'll be a good xmas gift to me!! braces huh?! head gear's no fun, i remember those days.. but i only had to wear it at night, so at least none of my friends saw me with it! and the good thing about braces in today's day and age is that you can get them put on the back of the teeth or you can get clear braces...so it's not like your only stuck with metal via front teeth!! and it's excellent that your insurance will pay for most of it!! wearing braces can be a little tough, esp when brushing teeth or eating popcorn (one word of advice - just don't eat the popcorn.. get that soft popcorn, it's not THAT bad!) but once you get them off, the transformation is amazing!!!! at least you know you'll like the results!! haha when do you get them put on? |

| Wow, your insurance will cover adult orthodonics? That's amazing! Most will only cover orthodonture for kids! Thanksgiving is the absolute WORST time to try to non-rev. Especially the Wednesay before, and the Sunday after. If you go on Thanksgiving DAY, it's not so bad, but I wouldn't recommend non-reving that weekend. |

Either that or buy him a cheap plane ticket on southwest (or whoever) and have him come home! [/ QUOTE ] There are no cheap tix left for Thanksgiving and DH's airline is 100% booked. So, he'll be down there all alone The only time I ever tried to non-rev was to LAX on Thanksgiving Day--had to because I had to attend my nephew's funeral the next day. The plane was empty. I returned on Saturday with no problem. Evan and I went to New Orleans on Christmas Day once and also had no issues. But those were in the days of overcapacity! |

| Admin/Owner ![]() | oh i know.. i did the same thing last year! left on turkey day, got there just in time for turkey (didn't have to help cook or nutin! hahaha).. then took off on saturday before everyone else was ready to head out of town.. as long as i caught that first morning flight, i was ok! but MCO is CRAZY this time of year with tourists going to disney and all.. my sister can't even get me a hotel down there (her hubby works for disney and gets 1/2 price/free disney everything).. so when i get down there this weekend, i'm gonna have to scout for a place.... I know orlando like the back of my hand, as far as getting around and all.. but i forget what hotels are good/bad and where they are relative to everything/everyone else there it'll be fun to watch! kewl thing is that my sister and Bro-in-law can get me into the food & wine fest at Epcot this weekend... i'm really excited about going because though I lived in orlando for 10 years, i never made it down for that event! |

| Jetgirls Ol' School Member | So are you just going for the weekend, Kristie? Charlie and Evan are driving down on Sunday and I'm flying in on Monday. Then Charlie and I fly out on Wednesday--he goes to Detwa to work and I go home--depending on the flight--if I leave on the early flight, I'll go to work. Charlie just booked us at the hotel they use for flight crews--AmeriSuites. He got the room (at his airline's rate ) but they are really booked up! |

| Hey Roz. How far is Harrisburg PA from you? I found a ticket leaving Sanford Orlando to Harrisburg leaving on Tuesday the 23rd returning on Thanksgiving day at 2:45 for $155 if you get desperate. www.iflytma.com Steve |

| Jetgirls Ol' School Member | Thanks Steve, but he starts school on the 22nd and is not off until Thanksgiving! Harrisburg is close (to Philly) but the dates don't work. I just need to find someone in Orlando that takes in orphans for holidays (as I have always done!). |

| Admin/Owner ![]() | [ QUOTE ] roz said: So are you just going for the weekend, Kristie? [/ QUOTE ] Yup, just going for the weekend! Arriving via redeye on Friday morning and leaving either sunday morning or monday morning (depending on loads - sunday's really IFFY!).. but then I'm planning on going back down over turkey weekend from the 25th - 28/29th (again, depending on loads). I'd really like to go overseas, but since doug's working and I don't have a travel buddy for that weekend, i'm kinda stuck to domestic traveling (not ready to travel alone overseas).... well, i guess meeting up won't work this time around! at some point, we should meet up down there since Evan will be there for the time being and My sister will be getting a home there... then we can ALL go to disney for the day! haha I'm sure someone will take Evan in... there's got to be more than one student starting school that week and they'll probably find eachother one way or another! |
