Checking In From FLA

Hi all,

It's totally devestated here! We are working like crazy to get our site back up in operation because we are being thrown out of the shelter on Sunday when it closes down! Everything was still moldy from the last go round. People are demoralized as it is! We're working with generators and trying our best.

But the kids come first. We have over 100 in our care and have to figure out how to take care of them and our staff!

This really puts things in perspective!

Gotta run--power's limited!

I don't get it.. why are they closing down the shelter if it's still so needed?

Where in Fl are you? I might be able to get you some helpers (JC crew) if you need them?!

What all do the kids need? clothing, necessities and things? we could start a donation thing on here if you'd like!! :-D

I cannot begin to describe the devasation in terms of spirit and physical plant. Our kids are now safe in their physical location. We worked like maniacs to clean it up! It is the spirit of our employees who have now lost their homes again that has me more concerned. Our company does not have an Employee Assistance Program to offer counseling. I wish we did. These people lost everything twice in a month. The relief efforts can't even keep up with the need. I'm too exhausted to post more.
