| H -I read your entry today about staying at your in-laws while your hubby has his surgery. Sounds like its going to be easier on him in the hospital than for you at the house! ![]() Anyway, I hope everything goes well with the surgery today. Thinking of you both.... Jackie

| Thanks guys!!! The Dr said the surgery went even better than expected and he ended up having a cartlidge transplant too! My next question to everyone is I'm supposed to fly back Thursday morning, but I'm not really sure I can leave him by then..they gave him a big brace and he's not supposed to bend his knee (unless he's on the machine) so its a little harder than I expected for him to get around. Plus his parents don't help at ALL! When we came home tonight (his parents didn't even go with though my mom and uncle did!) he's still a little out of it and narcotics tend to make him a little hysterical, he made it down to the basement and went go to the bathroom while I filled up his ice compression machine. His mom followed us down and I thought she would at least follow him to the bathroom and move the rug so he wouldn't fall on it instead she took off towards the door to go feed the racoons!! And I have an eye dr appointment tomorrow so he asked her what she was doing tomorrow and she said she was going to be waiting upstairs for a delivery of a chair? and that his dad was going to the country club! Sorry this got long but my question is does anyone have any idea of what I should do? I feel I really need to stay at least one more day till he's not taking so many pills and is a little more stable, but thats going to cost us even more money b/c I'll have to get another ticket, plus we have all 6 dogs at the vets right now so thats super expensive. I'm just not sure what to do I wish his parents would help him out a little but I don't think that will happen! Thanks again for the well wishes!!

| Jetgirls Plus Member ![]() | When will he be able to come home with you? Just curious. How far do you live from them? Totally ridiculous that they wont take care of him! I know some people who would do the same thing... :/ I'm sorry, that must be so frustrating for you! Are you so far that you couldn't drive back and bring him back home with you? Does he need to stay to be able to see the dr again? |

| He has a follow up dr's appointment on Tuesday..We are in Chicago now and live near Albuquerque so I can't really drive him home. He is supposed to come on Thanksgiving morning and my parents are taking him to the airport. He actually seems to be doing pretty well so I may just try and bump my flight to Friday morning instead. I'm just not sure how he's going to use these machines they gave him with no one to help him...

| Jetgirls Plus Member ![]() | ohh ok...yeah, that is too far. Obviously, it would be best if you were there to take care of him because I'm sure you would take care of him better than anyone else...but I guess you have to just trust that he'll be ok there without you. Will they really just leave him in the basement by himself? Could you have a talk with your MIL, or have DH talk to her and tell her that he needs a little bit of assistance while you're gone? It's only a few days, he will be fine, but I totally understand you being worried. I would be too! |

| What I manged to do was keep my return trip as credit at airways then book a one way on southwest on Saturday morning which gets me in with enough time to go pick up the dogs for the weekend and I get to stay here 2 extra days! His dad came down to visit...mind you from upstairs, he didn't even come down last night when we came home this is the first time he's seen him since surgery and he was here for maybe 5 min. I felt so bad for dh he was like I thought he'd stay longer.. So now I'm really glad I'm staying!

| Jetgirls Ol' School Member | I'm glad the surgery went well. Couldn't the insurance company have provided some assistance? Home health assistance post surgery is usually covered.
