Kris- I missed part of it so I didn't catch that. In fact, I thought I missed a lot since it felt like it was episode 2 or something! From reading everyone's posts I guess they wanted it to feel "already established" but it just caused a bit of confusion.

And I would have been a bit taken back by the scene of the oral sex in the parking lot if I had seen it. Unfortunately I have a lot of teacher friends and know things are A LOT different these days--6th graders are having sex now! I was still playing with Barbies in 6th grade!!

i didn't watch it, but I was suprised when I saw your first post. I can't believe what is ok to show now on tv. I makes me sick to think that it is happing in real life too.

Shows now are much more risque than they used to be. Unfortunately, scenes like that are the norm. Ten years ago they would have shown him kissing another girl, now they show blowjobs. Our kids are so desensitized (? spelling) to stuff like that, producers feel they have to keep pushing the envelope to keep them interested.

It is sad how desensitized some have become. I can't believe that is ok on television aimed at that age group. I was going to watch the VMA's last night. Changed it after the first 5 minutes! I'm scared of the world my daughter is going to be growing up in! I've only been out of high school 5 years and things have changed SO much already. I can't imagine what it will continue to become.

but yeah i know what you all mean about being desensitized, if they had been just kissing i'd just be like uh oh but because he was getting a blow job it was more like scaaandalous! and i didn't even notice it as something awful to be shown on tv until you all said something. i don't want my kids to think like that in middle/high school either!

i can't even imagine what could be on tv by then that hasn't already been done. if everything's remakes these days, what's gonna happen next?
