I've met Michael Phelps!!

He he. I was lucky enough to be sent to produce our coverage of the London 2012 handover party yesterday, and we interviewed Michael Phelps twice, and I got a piccie with him! Those of you on Facebook will be able to see it. He's much smaller than I'd expected (i.e, not huge!!) but very charming!

I read an article online in the Times last week written by an ex-Olympian who said Olympic park is a big sex fest after the athletes finish competing, and that women - athletes included - particularly like (read: go after) men who win gold medals.

I'm surprised Phelps wasn't too exhausted to speak.

I read that too!! I hope the underage atheletes stay somewhere else! I think it also said that the swimmers were the "busiest"! He must have been the busiest there! haha

so.. where are they going to fit all of the buildings needed for the olympics? have they figured all that out yet?

Wow! You must be TALL then! Michael Phelps is 6'4" and you don't look all that much shorter than him. No wonder he didn't seem all that gigantic to you! I'm 5'2" so he'd TOWER over me! LOL

Kristie - There's a whole site in East London that's being developed, near Stratford and Hackney - and a new train link's being built, too. Plus a lot of already existing venues are going to be used - football stadium in Birmingham, rowing lake in Windsor, etc...
