Biden is Obama's VP

time to start researching this guy....and see what he's all about.

i'm not informed enough on who he is or what his views are on things. Didn't he used to be a football player in another life or something?

I just saw this news a few minutes ago. He's a Delaware Senator. He was actually on the campaign path for the 2004 presidential election but funds chased him out early, well before Kerry got the nod. A lot of democrats like him and he's been around for quite a while (filling the experience gap that people criticize of Obama).

No, Biden was not a football player. Senator Allen was. In fact, this is cute:

He's originally from Scranton, PA. He was elected to the Senate at age 29 and his wife and daughter were killed in an accident before inauguration. He is a Catholic who supports Roe v Wade. He is very much pro-labor (to the point of being misguided, imho). Of course everyone knows about his strength in foreign relations. He is generally regarded as very liberal. This is interesting because Obama has chosen someone who is: a) as liberal as he is; b) an insider (definately not in keeping with his "change" talk).

Nick pointed out that before being named Obama's VP that Biden supported McCain's nomination. I'm sure some of the soundbites will make it on to the news.
