Default happy eggs

So, the other day I was grocery shopping and was trying to improve what we eat. A lot of the stuff I get already is organic and I try to get things from local farmers, when I can.
Well, I had to get eggs. Now, my children don't eat eggs, even if I make them green, but I love eggs. I love making omelettes!
I bought some cage free, natural eggs. The price was a bit ridiculous, almost 4 bucks for 12 eggs! The hens are fed an enriched vegetarian grain based diet and they roam free. They are happy birds!
I SWEAR I CAN taste the difference. These eggs taste silky and have wonderful flavor.
Just thought I'd share my "egg"sperience!

They are more expensive aren't they! I'll buy them from time to time at Costco. Its about that price for 18 eggs. But I haven't noticed a difference. But, I'm bad at noticing things like that.

you really can taste the difference. i buy almost all my meats/dairy/produce organically now simply because you can taste it. it's been really interesting how everything else has been tasting a lot better.

i also notice that the eggs are a bit more poofier too..fluffier, i should probably say.

We only buy cage free eggs,,, not only are they tastier,,,,but its also less inhumane for the chickens,,, just like veal,, I would never buy veal for the way the calves are treated,, its so horrible,,,

Sorry to jack this thread, but Kristie, have you tried Fresh N Easy Groceries her in Phoenix, They are known for their organic foods, I tried them and liked them, yeah the have other brands but mostly organic.

Dr. Forred said he didn't like it too much because they don't have a whole lot of variety.
So if you shop A Js or someplace like that, you might not like it, but since I live way in SP and if we want organic we have to go way no the North side, but they are putting in alot of Fresh N Easys

i swear there is a taste difference between brown and white eggs. but, maybe it is just that the cage-free, organic eggs that i buy are vastly different from the run of the mill white eggs i've had at other people's houses.

i used to have a client (little boy) that had chickens and he would bring me a couple of fresh fresh eggs at each session. his mom said he would go to the chicken coop, would pick up the egg, put it up against his face (warm from the hen), and would put it in the basket. i always think of him.

I call those 'good ju-ju' or 'good-karma' eggs. I can't eat any other kind now, knowing what kind of life those poor hens have on a factory farm. I'm very fortunate; a lady I used to work with gets 'yard-eggs' from someone at her church, they are $2.50 a dozen. They are all different colors and sizes (the shells) but the yolk is nearly always as big as a larger egg. Some of them are so beautiful, soft greens, blues, or rich chocolate browns and others are speckled. This woman has loads of different varieties of chickens on her property, roaming happily. The eggs taste so much better than store-bought.

LOL That's not going to happen if you buy the range free egga from a store. They still go through the light process to make sure they are selling quality. That would be very traumatic, even more if my little 6 yr old was the one cracking the egg.
