| I'm just trying to decide what to do. Dh's friend invited us to a party tonight with other "horse people." Dh's friend knows I like horses and I don't know many people out here so dh thought this would be a good idea. Come to find out dhs friend was over here a couple days ago and said that the person thats having the party is excited I'm coming and excited because we are building an indoor riding arena. Since we live on an airpark it is basically a big hanger with a dirt floor since we don't have a plane and we do have horses we thought this would be a good compromise, if we sell the house and someone wants to all they have to do is put a bigger door on it to make it work for a plane. But anyway I don't really want to go now knowing that she wants to come over and use it. 1) its not even built yet, were having a ton of issues getting the permits and its taking longer than we thought. 2)If she comes over falls off and breaks something we don't have insurance for that?! Not to mention I haven't even met her!!!!! So I'm thinking of just calling and saying I'm sick so I don't have to go? Anyone else have an idea?? ![]() Thanks!!

| Could it be she just wants to ask you about it because she wants to build one maybe? It's a thought... ![]()

| Maybe she's excited that someone likes horses as much as she does. If she wants to see where it's being built, why not show her, tell her it won't be done for a while, and leave it at that? It could be she just thinks it's cool. (Unless you're just not interested in meeting her, period - in which case, there's no reason to go.)

| ooo...the indoor riding ring dilemma??? seriously...as horse people without one...aren't we always looking to meet someone that has one?? i wouldn't let that stop me from going. who knows...(like other's said)...you may or may not even hit it off...that will secure your answer. let her know your concerns if you do decide to share your wealth...um...i mean, riding arena. she should be more than willing to sign something that does not hold you responsible. (she would be riding her own horses, right?) good luck...keep us (or maybe just me)...up to date on your riding ring!

| We did go and the lady as soon as we walked up with dh's friend said "Oh your his friend from edgewood thats putting in the indoor." So she immediately got written off in my book, but there were some other people there who were nice. There was a couple of guys from santa fe that had lived (oringinally)in Maine and had moved here from san fran. They were super nice and fairly entertaining, we swapped crazy mother in law stories. So all in all not too bad!!
