| Jetgirls Ol' School Member | Hey gang! A good friend of mine is moving to Phoenix in about 2 weeks. Even though I don't really think she's making the move for a good reason (that's another story) I will support her in her life decision. With that, I want to get her a funny, yet practical, moving away present. Fiance and I want to play on the idea that AZ is a HOT desert in July. So we want to assemble a basket/bag of summertime desert essentials. So far we've come up w/ the following items: sunscreen sombrero hat (or one of those hats w/ the long neck covering) canteen hand-held battery powered fan Anyone else have any good ideas? |

| Admin/Owner ![]() | isotoner or some small gloves...they work like oven mitts during the summer when you need to open your car or geez, just get oven mitts. we don't have a lot of baskin robbins out here.. cold stone, we do. i'd say movie tickets are good for the hot summer days. we have AMC, Harkins, United (in some locations). spray bottle so she can mist herself! HAHA some green spray paint, a lot of people outside of arizona seem to think we paint our rocks green in order to supplement grass. truth be known, there are a few homes in sun city (retirement central) that do have green rocks.

| Jetgirls Ol' School Member | Thanks chicas! I gave Theresa her desert survival kit tonight. She loved it. I sewed her a bag from left over curtain fabric (so she can use it as an eco-grocery bag) and loaded it w/: cold stone gift certificate ice cream scoop (one of those good fancy ones) hand held battery powered personal fan spritzer bottle w/ built in fan canteen sunscreen Though I didn't get her oven mitts for her car door handles, or driving gloves for her steering wheel, or towels for her black leather seats, I gave her all those wonderful tips. Thanks for the ideas! ![]() |
