| I was reading an old magazine article yesterday, and I thought one specific paragraph was pretty good. It was discussing good advice that someone gave you, in regards to parenting, but I thought it applied to just about everything in life. It said to remember this phrase "This will pass". Whether good or bad, it will pass. So, when you are having a good time with your kids or s.o., cherish it because it will pass all too soon. When you are fed up with work or when your 4 year old takes a stick and slashes all the screens in your lanai for fun (yep, this happeneds to me two days ago), it will pass. Kids grow up quickly, life goes on (whether you are ready for it to or not), and the moment that you are either enjoying or fretting about right now won't last. So, just remember that saying "this will pass". |

| Wow this really rang a bell with me. My mom always used the phrase "this too, shall pass" when we were growing up. I'm pretty sure her's came from 2 Peter 3:10-11. I can remember her using it when we were sick as kids or when we were brokenhearted over the latest teen breakup. Occissionally she would mumble it to herself when we were doing something particularly annoying or stupid. ![]() |

My mother in law says another phrase: "I come from a broken home...everything is always broken." (hopefully that didnt' offend anyone about the broken home) | |

| A girlfriend gave me this advice, basically, when DS was about 5 days old (and I was still trying to figure out the whole breastfeeding thing). But, she worded it as "everything is a phase...and will pass" DS was colic, and I would chant this when things were at their worst. It really is great advice ![]()

| I think we have the same 6 year old!!! it is relentless. sometimes I have to say, "mommy's ears need a timeout". I'm glad he is so fascinated by everything but sometimes I cant' complete a thought in my head. I keep reminding myself to not wish the phases away!! they are so cute |
