Jennifer Weiner & Nicholas Sparks , I'm already a big fan of. I've not read a lot by Anne Rivers Siddons. I've never heard of Emilie Richards, Emily Giffin, Terry McMillen or Tracy Chevaliar. So those guys are going on list. Thank you, thank you for the suggestions!
Let me know what you think of McMillen and Chevalier!

And sorry for shooting down the Summer Island book! I sound like a real jerk in my initial post!

No, no, its cool. Everyone has different taste. Can't tell you how many "bestsellers" that I have read and thought "what the heck, how is this a bestseller!"

I'll never buy one of Nora Roberts books. Her...attitude turned me off.

That is true, we all have our own styles we like, that is why there are so many books out there!

And Trista, why no Nora Roberts? I've never read any of her books.. But I see them everywhere..

I never read her to begin with, but after dealing with her last year, I most definately never will. She's a condescending, hollier than thow, stuck up...well you get the picture.

It all had to do with a big ebook company filing bankruptcy and her comments about the authors that were with that company, of course said as she hautily looked down her nose. I had one story with that company (a short story that was part of a series they had done. I knew the editor and she asked if I would write one) Basically, we lost our rights to the court and Nora said we were stupid and deserved what happened to us because we didn't have any protection in the contract.

Uh, excuse me? First of all, how does she know what's in my contract? Second of all, yes I did have protection, but according the bankruptcy court, they can overrule that and did. She still kept insisting it was our fault on one of the infamous trash blogs that I can't stand and I finally chimed in and told her off.

It wasn't pretty.

I'm reading beach house by an author I can't remember the name of but hes really popular. Its kind of a mystery type story, its pretty good though.
James Patterson is the author. He has a good series called the "womens murder club." All the titles have a number in them 1st to die, 2nd chance and so on..... I enjoyed them all.

Yeah thats his name! I finished the book a couple days ago. I like the short chapters, I don't know if all of his books are like that though. I watched the women's murder club when it had a show last year but I wasn't all that impressed. Not that it really says anything about the book though. I might pick a couple of his up at the library and see if I like them.

I walked through the "new" section the other day and picked up a couple random books. I wasn't impressed by any of them though after a few chapters. I guess I'll have to go with something more in mind next time.

After you've checked out Sue Monk Kidd's The Secret Life of Bees, get The Mermaid Chair. Same author, totally different kind of story. I almost think I like it better than Bees.

I'm currently re-reading the Traveling Pants series. Yeah, so what if I'm 25 years old? They're fun! Plus, I just added the first movie to my Netflix queue.

These have nothing to do with summer or the lake, but if you like historical fiction then you will enjoy Philippa Gregory's books. Also, check out Christopher Moore.
