Default Nervous in house alone?

Ok, I have to admit, I am nervous at night, home alone. We have an alarm, and live in a good area by most standards, but there are the odd vandal, or creep lurking around. My hubby is home alot now, but when he changes jobs and starts being away MUCH more, I don't know what I am going to do. My mind always goes to horrible things, like what would I do if someone broke in? I picture grabbing the baby, locking myself in my room calling 911...paranoid? A little!!! Has anyone felt this way? HOw do you do it? We are away from both our families right now. Any suggestions?
