is the link not working for you? It's called twitter... and basically you post updates about what you're thinking, doing or whatever. Maybe like a mini blog.. but you can find your friends and "follow" them and reply to their updates.

That reminds me of those updates you can do on Myspace or Facebook.. updating "your status".
