| Admin/Owner ![]() | get out there and VOTE!! do your due diligence as an American Woman today and enjoy the priviledge of being able to vote (remember.....men never wanted us to be able to have the opportunity to vote! we should never forget that...) If you want to shout to the world who you voted for, go for it...you don't have to state why cuz it's really nobody else's business... I would have voted Obama but i didn't get the stupid registration thing in, in time...Even after trying to persuade the DNC and county recorder, they said there was no way i could vote since my voter id would still state "no party" even though i changed it the DAY AFTER registration was due and have a reciept to prove it....that's my own idiotic fault and i won't be making that mistake again. I'm really pissed off about it. So... anyways....Let's ROAR a bit and make some changes this year!!! ![]()

| We have a closed caucus here in Colorado. I'm registered as Unaffiliated so I cant caucus tonight. I found out too late that I had to be registered as Rep. or Dem. by Dec 5. I'm so annoyed that I can't caucus tonight. But, now I know to register as a Dem or a Rep. by the next election. But, if I had known to register myself in time, I would register as a Dem and I would have caucused (sp?) for Obama. In other states that don't have a closed caucus, do you have to be registered as a Rep. or a Dem. in order to vote today? Can you vote for anyone, or do you have to vote for a person in the party that you are registered for?

| Admin/Owner ![]() | yea....i think it's ridiculous that unaffiliated or no party people can't vote....it's like you have to be part of a cliche in order to gain admission.. haha

| On my way to vote right now! I hated having to register with a party, but fuggit. I already knew who I wanted to vote for in the primary, so I chose that party. Come election time, if I change my mind, it doesn't matter what party I registered with, so no harm no foul.

| We had our's last week...Florida. I was only going to vote for the issue in our state, but at the last minute, I changed my mind and voted for a candidate too, when I saw how close two were....quite honestly, at least in my party, I can't see too much of a difference between all of them. My husband is more of an independent, and me I am affiliated with a party since the day I turned 18. I love politics, and I remember almost breaking up while we were dating because I thought he was clueless (which, at the time meant that he didn't agree with me...ha ha). I have matured, at least a little bit, since then, but elections are always a hot spot in our house. ![]() |

| Oh, and my opinion use to be "if you don't vote, then you shouldn't complain." Since the choices in this election seem so similar, I now have changed my opinion on that and understand why some people choose not to do so. Myself, I will still vote, but I can honestly understand why some don't. |

| Ian and I have talked about that - each of us is pretty sure we might have to rethink our relationship if one of us were way too politically different minded. Such as if one of use wholeheartedly supported someone in office the other thought was an absolute mistake of nature and the worst possible thing that could happen to a nation of people.

| Jetgirls Member | I am totally excited about politics in this election year. I think the way all this plays out is going to be very interesting. I just voted for Obama in the California primary. Elections are a hot button issue with my bf and I, too. We have fairly similar basic values, but our politics differ enough for us to argue about it if we let it get too far.

| Jetgirls Ol' School Member | I voted for Obama. Normally in California, if you registered independent (like myself, amelia, and Kristie), you cannot vote on a party's ballot. But for some reason in this year's CA primary, independents were permitted to vote on the Democrat ticket. However, if an independent wanted to vote on the Republican ticket, she would have had to register Republican. But that's just for primaries. For an official election, there is no party-line ticket. As an independent you can vote whatever party you like ... mix and match ... choose your own adventure ... all is fair! |
