9-1-1 Call I took today...

Okay, so, I have to share a 9-1-1 call with you that I just took... This is word for word the gospel truth!



Me: Fire Emergency

Caller: Yes, I'm at the Hillarie Clinton, um, campaign headquarters, I don't know the address, there's no fire here, but the, I was going up the elevator. The elevators are all screwed up. I'm trying to get to the sixth floor.

Me: Are you in the city of Santa Ana?

Caller: Yeah, it's in 900 block of Broadway, I don't know the exact address. I tried to get the number, but I couldn't get it from information. Anyway, I tried to take the stairs to the sixth floor, to, to get up there, but now I'm locked in the stairwell because all the doors are locked.

Me: And you can't go back down?

Caller: I can't get into the sixth floor, I've been banging on the door.

Me: But, can you go back down to the first floor?

Caller: (sigh) Well, I haven't tried that, (pause) um, I haven't tried, I don't know, I haven't tried that.

Me: Are you able to try that?

Caller: Yeah, I can try that.

Me: Okay, if you're still having trouble, by all means, call us right back, and we'll send somebody out, okay?

Caller: But, I have a feeling that door's going to be locked, too.

Me: Okay.

Caller: All the doors are locked, I've been on the third, fourth, fifth, sixth floor.

Me: Right, I mean, they might have the first door open for fire escape.

Caller: Yeah. Okay.

Me: I couldn't say for sure, obviously, I don't know for sure. (Caller interrupts with a "yeah") It's just a suggestion, um, if you're still having trouble, like I said, by all means, call us back, and we'll send somebody to, um, open the door.

Caller: Okay, hang on. Can you just hold on, 'cause I'll be down there in a second.

Me: Okay, for a moment I can.

Caller: Sure. (Caller makes some noise as she walks down the stairs) I'm getting my exercise today.

Me: Yeah.

Caller: Okay, I'm almost there.

Me: Okay.

Caller: Ooooohhhhh (heavy breathing) Oh! Okay! It worked! Good idea!

Me: Okay!

Caller: Okay, thank you!

Me: All right, good luck! (You're going to need it! haha! )
