| I guess nobody wants to talk politics!!! Can't say I blame them... My thoughts? Obama's win was kind of a no-brainer and I don't expect Hillary to do very well at all. Most pollsters can't reach members of my generation because so many of use use cellphones only and I think that there is actually much less support for Clinton than "they" are saying. I'd say a majority of my peers are rooting for Obama and can't stand Ms. Clinton. As for Huckabee-- Iowa's a pretty conservative state and I my guess is that McCain and that other dude (Romney?) split the vote enough for him to prevail. In my book, they all kind of play the same game...democrat, republican, same difference. Sigh. But I try to stay informed.

| Jetgirls Plus Member ![]() | No.. I'm not very good with the politcal talking... Even though I probably should be more into it and I probably will vote this year. This may get me into trouble, but.... I just don't feel like my vote does anything. |

| Well, I totally agree...perhaps my vote counts, but since everyone seems to just play the same old political game no matter what party/who they are...what difference does it make who I vote for? So I guess, for all intents and purposes, my vote doesn't really count.

| I'm a firm believer in my vote counting. Yours does too so register and vote! I figured Obama would beat out Clinton for sure. I don't think Obama would win the presidency though. I was surprised at Huckabee's win, but glad! (Guess you know where I stand politically!) ![]()

| Jetgirls Ol' School Member | I would love to be more knowledgeable about the whole politics scence...my sister is gung-ho future politician so she is always on my case...but really, I know the basic ideas of a definition book Republican/Democrat, etc. but as for the candidates themselves, I just don't keep up...I am glad to see the Obama is the front-runner, not too keen on Clinton...I would have liked to see more Bill Richardson supporters ...for me, I am a little bit of everything...I was raised very conservative but stand for homosexual unions, pro-choice, thinks it's about time we brought the troops home, and immigration oh boy that's tough, I have been over a dozen times mistaken to be mexican and one time was actually called a derogatory remark, but here's the catch I am of NO mexican decent! But really I could go either way on immigration. I know my beliefs and support the man that comes close to them all...Yes, the USA is huge and there are MANY young people out there that really think 'my vote doesn't count'...but play the numbers, and reduce it to a smaller scale and if there was an outcome that could be decided one or the other, a single vote does matter...even if you don't think one vote doesn't count, take the time, seriously, it takes like 10 minutes to get in/out of the poll centers and thats it...no harm done...

| Obama stands for change and people want change, but truthfully, I think once he gets in there, it will just be 'same ol same ol'. I often wonder what it would take to get the america people to stand up and revolt. Seriously revolt, not just grumble about what's going on. I never really paid too much attention to immigration until I lived in Ft. Lauderdale. When you have to learn another language to get a job, any job, because there are so many people there that can't speak English, then it's gone too far. Even in the little town I live in, because we have a Tyson chicken plant here, the highschool is over 65% hispanic. I was shocked. When you drive through our dowtown, there's a mexican restaurant, and a deli, that has menus writen in spanish. There's a spanish store, a spanish church, and a spanish clinic, plus they just opened another store that is also a western union (Western Union being the only words on the windows in English) I get pissed off every time I drive through there. (sorry) What I want in a president is someone with balls. Someone to stand up and say, the people want this, so this is what we're going to give them, not shove their own agendas down our throats like someone else I know...Bush. Sorry, politics and the sad state our country is in just piss me off. My prediction for the future unless something changes? Another civil war, immigrants against us...a recession, which is much closer than you think, and a decline of our way of life that will come close to matching a third world country. There's also China that we have to worry about and if you think they're not up to something, better think again. All it will take is for us to be cut off from oil to bring us to our knees, we're that vulnerable. I'm not an alarmist, but news and politics anymore scare the hell out of me.

| Admin/Owner ![]() | one thing i just can't support is the whole bush/clinton dictatorship....we've had Bush, Clinton, Clinton, Bush, Bush... we need some new thoughts.. new blood..someone that will stand up for the PEOPLE and not spread their own agenda... we also need someone in there that will give the states the authority to take care of state work.. feds should be concentrating on fed, not state and everyone else's. I'll tell ya wht i'm not for - tax cut...i could care less if we have to raise taxes simply because we are in SO MUCH friggen debt. the only way to get out of this debt is to raise taxes and pay the damn thing off. |

| It is obvious from my past posts that I am a Republican, but I try to keep an eye on both sides because you never know what will happen. It is also obvious that ALPA is pro-Democrat. To me, Gulianni is a Democrat running on a Republican ticket. I am more scared that Clinton will get in there, but if she doesn't winthis election or should I say nomination, I don't see her getting another chance after this election. I don't see a difference in Guliani and Clinton. Edwards seems like he has so much on his plate right now with his wife having incurable cancer that it seems to me that his head just wouldn't be in there as president. All the Front runner republicans and democrats are just politicians that are telling you what you want to hear to get elected. There are a couple independent types that I see as producing change, but I just think our society is stuck on the whole Republican and Democrat thing. I can't see an independent winning in today's society unless both democrats and republicans are ready for change. Big issues for me: abortion, gun control, death penalty, taxes, the war, oil production, education, etc. I will no way vote for Gulianni, even if he would win the republican nomination (which I highly doubt) due to his stance on some of these issues. By the way, I argue with my hubby about politics too, so we just decided not to talk about it anymore with each other. There is no convincing either one of us to like/dislike certain candidates. |
