I may have missed this in the posting, (my apologies if you have already mentioned), but does your MIL have any daughters? I'm thinking that chances are if she is telling you where the will is and informtion for her final details, she just feels comfortable talking to you like a daughter. I don't know how it is in your family, but boys...well they are boys. And the details, don't always seem as important as they are with a girl. I may be off base with your family, but with our family that seems to be the case.

I know my own MIL was very close to her own MIL. Her MIL was the mom of 3 sons, no daughers. So my own MIL became to daughter that she never had. She knew all of the family details, final decisions, etc.

As for the medical information I would absolutely tell my husband. Nothing good could come of keeping this health information a "secret". Good luck.

Oh, she has 10 kids...6 boys and 4 girls. My hubby and I live next door to her, and two of the girls live down the street...maybe about 6 or so houses.

I ended up telling my husband, and he said that he doesn't know if I should have broken her trust by telling him...so, I don't know.

well, he can always keep quiet too

it's not really fair for you to have to hold that type of burden when he's her son.

you did what you thought was right - it's the best anyone can do. If he chooses to see that in a negative way, so be it.

What's done has been done, but if I were in those shoes, I would have mentioned something too. This information can go either way, but I pray the best for her health..
