| Jetgirls Ol' School Member | He's from Baltimore originally, so he's seen throughout the city fairly frequently.. but today was my first sighting!! I just thought that was really cool. We were in the same shop and as I was going up to pay for my cards, I saw a book sitting on the counter that looked funny & I wanted to buy it. The cashier told me I'd have to fight John Waters for it, hehe. My coworker later told me that I 'could've taken him'. He was wearing the most bizarre & ugly green checkered suit I've ever seen (but that's his style!). Anyway, just wanted to brag. ![]() |

| Jetgirls Ol' School Member | I have to admit, when I read your post I didn't know who John Waters is. After looking him up on IMDb, though, his face does look familiar. At that rate, I wonder who else famous I've seen and didn't know it! :-P Kudos to you, Lauren, on your spotting!! ![]() |

| I looked him up and still don't know who he is, although I do recognize the movie Hairspray.

| Jetgirls Ol' School Member | I guess he's more of a local legend... He has quite a cult following, mostly in the gay community and those who like quirky artistic things. He's made some pretty outrageous films, as well! For those of you who don't want to have to google him: John Waters (I) He's most well-known as a director and writer... I would say that his most well-known movies are: Hairspray, A Dirty Shame (this had one of my favorite performers in it (Chris Isaak) & it had a scene in it that was filmed in front of my mom's old house!), Pecker, and Serial Mom. So he's no Spielberg and he's pretty out there, but he's a very big part of Baltimore culture. (HA, Baltimore has culture???) |

| Jetgirls Ol' School Member | Yes, we do have a bit of culture if you look outside the neighborhoods where we have most of our murders! It's so bad that the Baltimore Sun has a place where you can look up the homicides on a map! Baltimore Homicides - baltimoresun.comEverybody come visit tho, hon! Actually most areas of Baltimore (the tourist areas) are safe.. the only people who have to worry are the criminals. Funny thing about Ace of Cakes... one of my girlfriends makes special occasion cakes and she knows people that work for Duff. They say that he's a real @sshole!! |
