can't even begin to count how many times we use horse poop. When we where little we would get into fights in the winter time with the frozen horse poop "nuggets" or my brothers would hide them in their snowballs, to make it hurt when they hit you....

![]() ![]() ![]() ...it's only 9am right now, and that is the funniest thing i've heard! hahahahahah...Planet Earth, haven't seen it yet, but on my 'list' to watch...I do not consider myself a "tree hugger" but it just pains me to see a completely healthy forest bulldozed to put housing developements where they immediatly sell, only to see that a couple of years later they are deserted because people can't pay their morgages... I would much rather live in the mountains away from city life where there is a lot of emphasis on social status...

| I can't stand the overbuilding also. Our builder left almost all the trees and built each house on 1-5 acres. Now he builds 2-3 houses on each acre and clear cuts all the land. He makes a lot more profit by packing the houses in. Yuck. We also prefer to live in the sticks. Dh commutes once a week. I think people can drive whatever they wish but when gas prices rise to $5 a gallon don't complain. It is a matter of time. I guess we are too cheap to drive gas guzzlers. Dh's new Altima gets about 30 miles per gallon and my van gets about 25 miles per gallon. Most of the time I borrow dd's Sentra for quick trips around town. It sips the gas. ![]() Tonya |

| Jetgirls Ol' School Member | Up until a year ago, I drove a 1990 Ford Escort, hatchback...that I could fill up on $25, and drive for 2 weeks, it was great!!! the only reason I upgraded to a used Sentra was to get me across the country, and it is still going strong and not too much to fill up... this past week, I had the Highlander that took $45 to fill up, and didn't last me a full week! so sad, but looks like I'm stuck with the guzzler, because BF doesn't want to leave it at the airport whenever he is gone... ![]()

| Jetgirls Plus Member ![]() | No anger here, other then the price of gas...I wasnt kidding about the horse thing...I was serious. I live in Lancaster county most of my neighbors are horse and buggy. I was thinking of buying a donkey so I can ride my ass around town. as for tree hugging hippies that was a joke I mean how much damage are jets doing to the enviormnet its kinda a oxymoron about the green car thing....Joy |

But in all seriousness, I know that some Amish, and definitely Mennonite, are aware of worldly matters. I wonder what all their take is on climate change and energy crisis ... ? | |

| We lived in Germany and Korea for years and American gas is cheap! I would never drive an Exxon Valdez and then complain. Some of our friends can't give away their vehicles now. Tonya |

| Jetgirls Ol' School Member | UPDATE!! So I've been in northeast Ohio for the last handful of days visiting family for Christmas. For the record, I have seen just one hybrid (Prius) on the road. So even though its only 2 data points (CA and OH) I may be able to surmise that the hybrid smugness is mostly a regional phenomenon. |
