Default WhewwwWhooo Now the baby can come!

As most of you guys already know, I'm due with baby #2 on the 23rd. I'm also working on my Masters of Social Work. I'm taking two classes this semester, one runs weekly until Dec and the other was everyother weekend for eight weeks ending tomorrow. Well the weekend class had two large assignments that she gave us at the beginning of the class and just said they were due by the last day. Of course (she says sarcastically) I planned to have them done well before then because it was so close to my due date. Well, DH was in training for all of Aug and part of Sept so needless to say that didn't happen. However, I just wrapped them up, plus another weekly assignment. They are ready to be turned in.

So, NOW the baby can come. I'd appreciate a few more days to tie up the loose ends -you know-the cover to the bouncy chair has been washed but not put back on yet type thing. But for the most part I'm okay.

PHEW! I feel so much better! Now if I could just convince him/her to take it's foot out of my rib.......lol!

Ahhh, nice sigh of relief! And your mom will be there soon to help out, so that is good. I think things are always much better when my mom is around, well, when it comes to having babies.

Try to relax as much as you can. Are you getting any sleep at night?

Yum, it varies. Some nights I can't sleep until like 2am with a hot up of Chamamile tea (Sp?). Others there is no problem. I have given up trying to sleep on the recommended left side. The baby lays to the right and protests when I lay on my left. I feel like its doing the spiderman thing -holding on with arms and legs -trying not to slide over! LOL And my pelvis is so loose it gets painfully out of place when I sleep so rolling over can be pretty eye opening!

I do nap almost everyday when DS does which helps alot too.

lol, poor thing. Your almost there.
I wake up every other hour to pee, then to drink a tall glass of water with crushed ice. Well, no wonder I have to pee, lol.
I try to sleep on my left too but have such a hard time. It only seems to be comfy in the morning after I get my youngest off to school and take a nap. I nap whenever my bottom hits the sofa and I have a pillow near by. I always have to set the timer or alarm so that i don't forget to pick up the children from school.

I remember kind of freaking out when I was preg with DS b/c I kept waking up on my back -supposedly a big no-no. When I discussed it with my doc he said that it had to do with compressing the vein to your lower extermities and not circulating oxygentated blood well enough. He said I would wake up gasping if my O2 levels got too low and well before the baby was comprimised.

This time I find myself on my back again a lot -mostly b/c of the loose hip thing and don't worry at all.

The human body is an amazing thing.

Do you snore?

I do, a lot! And dh has the nerve to ask me to move to my side cause i am keeping him awake, lol. He says between me and the dogs he can't get any sleep. Like he should talk! I have this habit of going close to his ear and that is when I start, lol
At night I have the ceiling fan going full blast, I swear it is going to come down from how fast it is going, and then I have a fan on the night stand, full blast. Eric just bundles up and uses me to block a bit of the air. A few nights I've gone to the couch to sleep so thatI can be totally propped up, and I feel so refreshed when I wake up a few hrs later.

First, congrats on finishing the projects! I know what an amazing feeling it is....I finished my final master's project pregnant with # 3, and 2 little ones running around. So, what I am saying is that you deserve a big pat on the back because that was a hard thing to do, and you must be so relieved!

About falling asleep on your back, my perinatologist told me not to worry about it too. In my first pregnancy, I would always freak out because I would wake up on my back too. He was very laid back about it, and said most of the time, it isn't something to worry about and to relax. If I can remember right, he said something about possibly elevating myself with pillows. I kept thinking, you mean other than the 10 pillows I have propped around me to try to get myself somewhat comfortable? Then you go to the bathroom every hour and have to readjust the pillows.

I wish you a very easy last month of pregnancy and again, congrats on such a great accomplishment with school!

Big kudos to you on finishing your MSW. I got my MA in Counseling and wish so badly I would have gotten my MSW instead. Anyway, at least everything is done and now you can "enjoy" the last little bit of pregnancy!

Congrats again and best of luck in the next few weeks!
