OK, so Doug locked the other thread because he did not like what Roz had to say which was just that our members are fed up with being told what to do by him.

Doug, you have an idea of what you view as an ideal career. But you cannot dictate that for all. We know it gets your goat when people talk about doing things that you don't like, but sometimes that's the way it is.

If you want a forum where people can have intelligent dialogue, then you have to allow it. If you want to censor it or control it by locking threads that disagree with you, then you will lose membership. That's a fact--not a threat so don't misinterpret the statement.

It's too bad you chose to lock the thread as soon as you got home and got annoyed. We could have continued the discussion in an intelligent manner.

WOW.
This has really gotten ugly. Don't you think that it is time to agree to disagree? Respect that everyone has an opinion. Opinions differ and that is what makes the world go round...

Thank goodness; International, domestic, big planes, smaller ones, new pilots, more seasoned ones. I am just glad they are all in the air, have excellent safety records and can take me to where I want to go.

You want to duke it out....? Take it to PM's

Respectfully,
My .10

ummm... I don't want this to sound ... but please don't speak for me. When you say "our members" thats how I took it... not all of us are complaining to Roz.

I know you didn't complain Kelly. I did get messages from 59 other members expressing concern about the direction of the board. It doesn't matter, though.

I don't think the other thread was locked because Doug was insulted by what Roz had to say - I've met him and Kristie and it takes a lot more than arguing on the internet to ruffle his feathers to the point of a closed thread.

That being said, I think a lot of the ladies on this site have gotten their panties in a twist over nothing. You have to support your SO no matter what they do or what their dreams are in life whether it's flying internationally, or putting an addition on to the house. Doug said that he never realized how awesome flying internationally was until he was actually doing it - now he sees how great it is, he wants to inspire other pilots to shoot for it as well. I'm sure he understands that different people have different priorities.

Anyway, I think it's time everyone took a deep breath and had a moment of zen.

*my post is my speculation of what doug is thinking and is no way endorsed by or speaking for him*

actually, it looks like that is exactly the case, unfortunately (based on the newest confusion thread)...i'm pretty saddened to hear it on a personal level because it takes so much away from all of us.

Whomever is posting anonymously, you're misusing the feature.

It's not meant to 'conceal' your identity so you feel strength at answering a post, it's more or less meant to "protect" you when you've got a potentially scandalous question to ask.

I could easily post anonymously and tell you what I really think deep down in side about the topic, but I chose to be professional about it.

woah woah woah...how do YOU know that for a fact? you don't...and i hate when people make assumptions...you know the famous quote "makes an ass out of you and me".

I closed the thread because the topic was dead. it could have continued for eons and maybe never been "solved" and there was certainly no more intelligent NEW conversation going on and it just continuing to go on and on and on just like a few others said. it was beginning to give me that stale taste i don't like and so i closed it.

on a personal note, i came to a conclusion that i would agree to disagree and keep moving on...i'm leaving it at that...how bout the rest of you? are we ready to let sleeping dogs lie?
